I think the colors got away from you here. I'd make this overall much less saturated, except for the yarn. Make everything else minimal in color and then use value to separate the bare skin from the chair and wall. If you make the yellow towel under the yarn a dark version of the wall color that will also help give the yarn more strength. I'm imagining that a strong accent in an otherwise tranquil color setting. You should also show a sliver of that pink on the other side of the figure to balance it. I tested this out and can fire you off a quick and dirty mockup if you like. Just let me know.

I like this a lot--I just started w/ oils, and so far I only somewhat got the hang of it. Looks like you know ur stuff-Our teacher always tells us to add colors from the surroundings and incorporate them into the figures; you've done just that! kudos!

I love the blend of warm and cool tones. It shows that you really thought this one through. I would like to know the dimensions.

Very thought-provoking. A little cold in color but the nude model makes me think the room must be warm. Contrast=nice.

Well done. I admire your technique very much.

Very nice work. It's a very scary realism. But still you played it off man. Now it's more of a painting rather a just a photography.

Over all - very nice. Must fav this.

Nice job on the chair Tom. I think the clearity of the hair and rending in the chair stand tall, but I want to see the back on the figure have a little more balance and clearity. I think in comparison to the chair and the hair the back seems a bit formulaic and stylized. Maybe just add a little more color variation and contrast of value in certain spots to really jolt up the realism in the forms. All an' all though, exceptional work mate

I love that vibrant light effect you get in your work, your paintings almost appear to glow. I like the composition as well, the chair and the torso play off each other well. The female back is always an intriguing form, almost hypnotic, you did it justice or her rather.

i like how quiet the mood is in this painting. i also really enjoy the green flecks on the chair-- it brings more life to a lifeless object
