Good to see speedy works like this, I think the hut on the left is positioned in a pleasing way composition wise and the structure is solid.
Also the atmosphere is grim in a good way and it transcends, good job at that e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

I'd suggest a few ideas for you that might help you improve.
Keep values in check and think of atmospheric perspective (things dim out in value and saturation as they recede). This isn't evident here, value wise. Not much saturation here, so it's only value.

The trees farther from us should have gotten a bit lighter in value and perhaps should have adopted a shade of the background (the violet haze).
I like the yellow window showing that there is light inside the hut, a good idea is to enhance that light a bit and add some more into the front to show light coming from under the cracks between entrance door and floor or another window but in the front.
I'd also add some more details to the empty space around the center of the work and work a bit on the character that's making its way towards the hut. I'm not sure what it is, it looks like a really sad centaur with its head bowed down.

Really handy your comment "This isn't evident here, value wise. Not much saturation here, so it's only value." That's really helpful for me - saturation vs value. I've always been puzzled by tone for some reason, and the penny only dropped recently (after all these years, go figure!) so this comment helps me as well.

Yeah, stuff like this can go unnoticed for years and then, reading/hearing/seeing something can just make things click for you, and blam, you understand something that was a mystery for so long only a second ago.
