Their arrival was rather uneventful, just what Horatio liked. He was quick to adjust to the colder climate thanks to his constant travels but Alvorada? She needed a lot more time. Thus he decided to arrive some days earlier to make sure his old lady was in the best shape she could be. He started slowly with short walks until she was ready to take on a bigger one all around the property. On those walks his mind always strayed off, his thoughts easily clouded by things he'd rather forget. The time with her, without any distraction or other tasks, brought back memories. At times he felt as if they had never been apart....

Next: Pushing boundaries

Horatio giving his old lady a bit of time to get accustomed to the local climate. She has never seen snow before or felt such temperatures so he made sure to arrive extra early and give her all the time she might need.
Also, I guess this one takes the cake for "most ambitious semi-painterly background I've ever done".
You can't imagine how fucking proud I am of this piece. Doing background like that is extremely difficult for me since my brain cannot really grasp colors/color-values.
