As it turned out, there weren't that many pretty goth girls that frequented Angel's Grace. A month after Chloe and Aaron, now posing as Grace, sent an email with some quick photos of Aaron's made up face, they received a reply from the store manager, saying that Grace had got the job and would she be free to come in for a test shoot. The email detailed it would be unpaid at first, but Grace would get to take home plenty of free samples from the shoot. At first, Aaron was nervous about posing as a goth girl, but once Chloe convinced him of how funny it would be to have a guy pose for the store and how much free stuff they'd get, Aaron agreed.
The store scheduled a shoot for the a date later in the month, giving Aaron some time to practice being Grace. Chloe taught him some advanced make up techniques and some more feminine behaviour. Aaron had been using wigs on their last couple of outings, but Chloe taught him how to make the most of his own long hair.
The day of the shoot arrived and Chloe and Grace arrived at a studio not far from the mall. Checking in at reception, an older lady appeared from a back room and introduced herself as the manager of Angel's Grace. Bidding Chloe a short hello, she swept Aaron away before he could say much. The manager said that Chloe could watch when they did the shoot, but she needed Grace to get ready first.
Chloe sat in reception for what seemed like a lifetime before she heard her name being called from the back. She walked through into a large room to see a beautfiul, silver-haired girl stoof in front of a purple background, surrounded by people with cameras and brushes, as well as the manager of the store. Chloe looked around for Aaron before the manager noticed her. "Doesn't Grace look amazing?" she asked, indicating the silver-haired beauty beside her.
Chloe could hardly believe her eyes. What had they done to Aaron?! She approached her friend, who looked petrified beneath all the hair and makeup. The manager told Chloe that Grace had a few minutes to rest whilst the photographer got set up if she wanted to chat. Chloe ran to Aaron and asked him what happened. "It was awful," he started, "They dyed my hair and added in all these extensions. They said it was only a temporary dye, but I'm not so sure. Then I spent an hour having my makeup done and they practically removed my eyebrows. Then they added these talons to my fingers!" he exclaimed, waving the black nails that protruded from his fingers.
"Once all the was done, they gave me these clothes to wear and rubbed on all these temporary tattoos. This is too far, Chloe! I want out," Aaron sobbed. Before Chloe could respond, the manager ushered her away, telling Grace it was time to shoot. Chloe sat to the side and could only offer reassuring glances to her friend, as he was forced to pose for hundreds of photos and suffer a dozen outfit changes. The worst part of it was that Aaron was utterly convincing as a girl after his professional makeover. She was almost jealous that he was prettier than her!
The hours passed and the shoot was finally over. Aaron disappeared behind a curtain to get undressed and the manager came over to talk to Chloe before she went to check on Aaron. "Grace did very well today, we're so pleased! We've set aside these gift vouchers for both of you as a way of thanks," she said, handing Chloe two gift cards. Chloe glanced at the cards and managed to stutter a thank you, gasping at the two $250 gift cards. This was more than a new wardrobe to Chloe! The manager beamed at Chloe and told her the store was very grateful. "By the way," the manager continued, "Our photographer wants Grace to model some clothes for another project he's doing. They're a little more extravagant than our clothes, but she might enjoy it. It pays well too, not just in gift cards!" she laughed.
Chloe thanked the manager again and went to see if Aaron was okay. She found him struggling to remove a dress in his small changing area. He saw Chloe appear smiling and asked for help unzipping. "I'm never doing this again," Aaron grumbled as Chloe yanked at the zip.
"We got $500 in gift cards for it, at least," she replied, finally unzipping the dress.
"I guess that's not so bad," he conceded, "But I wish it was real cash."
"Well..." Chloe began and she set about convincing Aaron to do one more modelling job...
