Description I rescanned it and achieved results much closer to the original in terms of coloring. Still not happy with the scan but it'll pass.

Anyways, Damon Salvatore from "The Vampire Diaries." Great face to draw.

Tools: the cheapest construction paper and colored pencils known to man and graphite. I wouldn't know how to handle anything of quality. My system would shut down.

Your ability to draw facial hair just blows my mind. It's a stunning likeness. I only have one slight suggestion if you don't mind me making it. It looks like he's squinting with his left eye. Should there be some wrinkles or something along that eye socket? Oh, and in my book, the mark of a gifted person is someone who can use any material around them and make something this beautiful. You may use cheap materials, but your quality is better than a lot of people who use the expensive materials. There's a saying I heard recently: "A bad instrument can still play a great song, but a bad song isn't made better by a great instrument."

Thanks, hon! In truth, facial hair is the easiest thing ever! Regarding his eye, I didn't see all that much wrinkling in the reference pic... or I perhaps missed it after I lightened it up some. It's a rougher rendering than what I what normally do if I allowed my anal-retentiveness to take over. I've been trying to intentionally rush my work lately, because being a perfectionist makes for a very small portfolio.

Thanks for sharing the reference pic. I see what you're talking about not being much wrinkling around the eye socket. The young whipper-snapper's too pretty for his own good! And I totally understand about rushing yourself. Sometimes too much time is lost in the detail. You're welcome.
