Here's a picture showing some of Rattata's poses: sleeping, looking up while laying down, running (full throttle, I might add), sitting down and turning while running. This last pose was actually my own invention, based on the GBA sprite for Suicune. It's a little strange to use the pose of a majestic, legendary canine for a rat, but I thought it would be funny... Even though it does look a little odd.
And yes, I know some of the drawings differ in sizes and proportions. Hey, nobody's perfect, right?
