Description Here is a set of illustrations demonstrating the steps it takes for me to illustrate one of my Paleo Profiles. I apologize for some of the image quality.
Starting at the top left moving to the right, you can see the progression of changes in the animals horns, legs, and back as I work out the overall anatomy provided by fossil evidence. I like to use Scott Hartman's skeletal reconstructions as a reference to proportions, www.skeletaldrawing.com/therop… .
It is difficult to see but I used Jack Horner's idea that the head of triceratops was covered in keratin, much like the bill of a bird. The horns and head are basically one whole unit opposed to the classic rhinoceros look of the horns growing out of a base.
Look out for the next Paleo Profile this week! Enjoy!
Please leave your comments about the ideas above and the step by step process. I appreciate the feedback.
