Barn owls are possibly my favourites. They're so beautiful and gentle. Lovely piece.

Beautiful work, the feathers especially. And a very nice choice of colours.

Très beau travail, et quelle patience! J'aime bien le côté icône byzantine du nimbe doré!

Now this is so gorgeous! I love the halo and coloring that gives the owl the feel of one of those old icons. And the owl itself is fantastic. I really like this painting.

Thank you ! I was indeed going for a religious icon feel.

You did a really wonderful job with that. I'd hang this up in my house. Ooooo or wear it on a navy shirt. That'd be pretty...

Just beautiful. The proportions in the face read very well, and the amount of detail you put into the feathers really paid off!

Could you edit this image by cropping the white edges and increasing the color/ brightness?

What do you mean ? I like the way the white edges frame the owl and the color/brightness matches how the colors looks IRL.

Wow how does this not have more comments?
And yeah, scanners are a cuse for evey traditional artist that works with some sort of color..
I love barn owls <3 I think you captured their personality really well. The colors match and there isn't too much contrast so the black eyes stand out more. It motivates me too see that traditinal artists can do something that cool because I think it's sad how digital art took over dA and the internet..

With my scanner, it's mostly the yellow tones that get fucked up x)
Yeah, mine too c: They look like they're not from this world if you ask me.
Agreed. I think the problem is that it's difficult to create vibrant colors and good scans if you work traditionally, especially for beginners. While digital beginners have bright colors immidiately. Also traditional beginners often have to photograph their drawings/paintings which makes them less appealing to the interwebz audience.. To me, it seems like if you work traditionally, you only get recognized if you are really really good (or do something with unique media), while every mildly talented 10yearold gets recognition for digital work. But that is only if you draw popular fanart things, I must admit.

Superbe ! Et, en effet, quel soucis du détail sur les plumes ! Tu as dû y passer une éternité ! Je trouve ses yeux très réussi également. Vraiment, du très beau boulot !
