Description "Tyrion studied Prince Iltharis as he came into view. He was a tall, slender elf, dark-haired and fair-skinned with piercing grey eyes and a languid manner. He was garbed in a very elaborate, scholarly fashion. He carried a bunch of scrolls negligently under one arm...
'Your new pupil is quite exceptional, Korhien.'
'Indeed,' said the White Lion. Tyrion was annoyed at this fop passing judgement on him.
'Perhaps you would care to try a turn with the blades,' Tyrion said. Iltharis looked at him and smiled mockingly.
'It is not something I would usually do, but in you case I shall make an exception.'
He sauntered over to the sword rack, examined the wooden blades like a connoisseur selecting a bottle of wine and picked up the one that he liked the most. A moment later he was strapping on the practice armour.... Iltharis stretched like a big cat to get the kinks out of his muscles, saluted Korhien and then turned to face Tyrion. 'When you are ready, young prince,' he said. The rest of the students watched with interest. Some of them smiled. One of two laughed. Tyrion wondered what he had gotten himself into.
He approached Prince Iltharis, sword held ready. They exchanged two blows and his sword was out of his hand. [Iltharis'] speed of reflex was uncanny. Tyrion suspected that for the first time in his life he had encountered someone even quicker than himself."

Excerpts from "Blood of Aenarion", by William King.

In reality the half-brother of General Dorian Silverblade- Malekith's highest ranking general and great enemy to the kingdom of Ulthuan- Prince Iltharis of Silvermount, as he is called among the unsuspecting Asur he resides with, and Urian Poisonblade by those back home, is considered the best duelist in all of Ulthuan, having killed more elves in single combat than any other in recorded history. Thought to be a scholar researching the descendants of the great Aenarion, Iltharis reports directly to his master Malekith. He has been made and remade into different spy-assassins many times, the Witch-King's magics keeping him alive as flesh is flayed and replaced. Despite his two-facedness, he remains one of my favourite characters in this amazing trilogy. He's not thoroughly bad...but is thoroughly delicious.

pen, pencil. Artwork is mine. Tyrion, Korhien and Iltharis belong to Games-Workshop, William King, and Warhammer.

His half-brother Dorian (and equally evilly lovable) is here, as well as little more insight into Urian's character: Dorian Silverblade , if you're interested. I highly recommend this series as an exciting, beautifully written, Elf-filled adventure. It's always difficult decided what excerpts to choose from. Spread the love. Thanks for looking and reading!

I kinda prefer fantasy over 40k because even though High Elves are pompous sometimes, they really do have good intentions the likes of humans (however it seems the humans are the ones who have to keep them and the dwarves from killing each other) while in 40k their Eldar incarnations are just downright selfish and cruel and thinking its okay because their race is the oldest (though by what I read about Isha what they do to other life goes against her wishes)

Hey, that's really interesting! I'd wondered about the Eldar and 40k for a while, and I'm quite glad that I was originally introduced to the high fantasy side of Warhammer instead of the 40k.
Elves do often seem to have issues with their hubris and sense of superiority, but, as you said, their methods of dealing with the rest of the world has sprung from the desire to preserve it from the darkess of Chaos, rather than to dominate and rule all for sheer self-gratification. The Druchii, on the other hand, I cannot say the same for.
Thanks for commenting!

the Eldar mindset in 40k is "Humans and are inferior, therefore it is not a sin to kill, lie, and cheat from them"

the High Elves seem to be "We are superior to humans, but that means we must protect and assist them"

All those intricate details of his outfit make me think of a masterful etching from the days of yore! I think I could stare forever at those twisting flowery patterns, and especially at those rings of chainmail. And the designs on his boots made me squeal in admiration of the effort you put into your drawings! And you can even see the runes on the scrolls aalfhafhajk;fhadkbabkfgaahasfjkahfajkhfahkf!
I really love the sly, confident expression he has, and the way he casually plays with his blade - the gesture goes perfectly with his characterization! And, of course, that mane of hair is just as resplendent as I thought it would be.
I may be overthinking things, but I also love (I really, really do!) that he and Dorian have different soil under their feet. It kind of matches their choices of paths in life: while one half-brother is treading the ground in the wilds (on a battlefield, perhaps), another looks like he is walking through a palace... (or towards someone's bedroom )

Awwww thank youuuU!!! <3 You're so awesome to notice all those details!! Oh gosh, I'm so excited. I took SO long to post these- I drew both Urian and Dorian like...two months ago. Maybe three actually. Your reactions made me grin so widely it still hurts.
When I'm doing detail work things become rather...meditative. (I use that work a lot with art, don't I?) As I was drawing the scrolls I thought it'd be handy when searching through a shelf full of parchment to have a title or something on the side, to pull out and check. xP Lol. Oh oh! And the details on his boots- they're actually a stylized mountain with a knotted cloud around the peak, symbolizing Iltharis' House name: Silvermount. (I forgot to mention that in the description)
Ah- he was a piece of cake compared to that massively armoured half-brother of his! (All those damned matching armour pieces! Ouch!) Fluttering cloth and random-ish floral designs! I'm so happy you loves them!
His gloves, belt-thing, and manly cod-piece are actually supposed to be out of woven leather strips. Flexible and light, hinting at armour but still keeping in the domain of elven dandy garbs. ;B Braided/woven leather is one of my fav. decorative/useful armour devices!
Omg!! And you noticed even the grounds!! <3 I actually did put some thought into that part- never expecting it to get any notice, and I've always been entranced by the stark, classy contract of black and white marble tile! *hugs for noticing everything* You don't know how much it means to have such a thorough appreciation! Thank you so much!
(Ah, and towards someone's bedroom is right! And I'm gonna wager it's not his!) ;D

You are most welcome! I always try my best to put a lot of thought into my comments - it is only fair, considering the amount of work that goes into every creation!
And I am never tired of bowing in awe at your attentive approach to everything! Who else would think about those scholars, walking through the library in search of the right scroll?
Oh my, I can see it now! Of course! An outline of a mountain, flowing into some gorgeously executed, flawless Celtic-style knotwork! So clever!
Aww, I hope I did not offend you with that blunder. I am sorry I mistook leather for chainmail! I didn't even know woven leather was a thing (except perhaps in horse harness). Goes to show that you are a much better expert at armour design that I am.
Ooooh my, I know what you are talking about! Tiled stone floors are incredibly beautful!
I can feel smug and full of myself now. The ground is a really awesome touch!
(Hmmm, it still could be his, though - if there's someone waiting for him in there... I mean, some ladies can be pretty resolute ).
