Description
The main image for my blog serial this Halloween season. For once I get a scary story up in time for then!
Nothing much to show here, just Heather, Janus and a new friend by the name of Noelle finding a creepy sinkhole in the floor. The phenomena is based off an IRL Reddit post out of r/thetruthishere, with a guy talking about his house having a soft spot in the floor, and how poltergeist like activity seemed to happen around that part of the house. I actually contacted the OP about his post, sharing the image and telling him how it inspired me to make it. To my surprise he actually liked it.
I do feel bad as my entry turned out to be a 9,000 word story, otherwise I might've drawn more stuff to go along with it. Oh well. Maybe I'll go back sometime and expand it up. Story's linked below if you want to give it a read.

Well, while the other artist did their drawing, but I did design their clothes! I'm glad you like them. I'm really happy with the pigtail girl's dress in particular, as I really haven't shown dresses with that kind of skirt shape in my setting before. Otherwise I always tend to go for this like of mid-1800s style, but with a modern tailoring twist to them. I will admit I like the colors used, too.
I'm glad that some sort of storytelling comes across, as I was worried that none of that would show.
Thanks again!

This one looks super spooky, and from the scared look in their eyes, it feels like something terrifying is about to jump out of that hole.
And yeah, I tend to read about this stuff usually. I know that stories from Reddit are usually fictional, but there are so many dreadful encounters with otherworldly entities that other people had that really makes me question my reality.

Thank you!
r/Truthishere is where I tend to hang around now, as that is a real-life experience subreddit. r/nosleep had always been a fiction board, but at least then it seemed like it was a great place to pick up some story information for stories. Now it just seems like cheaply done two-bit writing that you can clearly tell is fantasy. But I totally get what you mean, it does make you wonder about stuff.

Oh yes, Void portals basically connect their world to that dimensions, not too unlike the hell gate in the Doom game. And while you may find Void creatures in the current space, there is rumored to be a ton more to exist there, and nothing is known about them.
You're partially correct! Heather and Janus (the first two on the left) have encountered Void before; so while they are afraid, they're more of being cautious and careful than terrified. Their pal on the other hand is definitely frightened, as she had not only seen that, but some other nonsense in the house before such as furniture moving by themselves and such.
Yep, I do use filtered photos for most of my backgrounds! I tend to try to half draw-over or give shading for it to not look that obvious, but this piece gave me a bit of trouble and I had a schedule to keep to stay in line with, so it did admittedly get a bit more rushed than I liked. >.<;;

This is quite a suspenseful piece. It feels like something horrific is going to happen.

Thank you! I'm glad that it conveys the feeling, I really wanted it to have that tone to it.
