I know it gets all the complaints about being too college movie derivative, but I really enjoyed Monsters University, and I think is the journey of Mike that makes a great portion of the movie, as well as Sully

yeah, agreed, i didn't think monsters university was all that bad either. mostly because i could really relate to mike in his situation, he worked so hard to accomplish is goal only in one little moment to find he dosen't have what it takes, but also gives hope that while your end goal is not exactly what you hoped for you can still makes the best of it.

Exactly, that's definitely something I'm currently exploring now with universityΒ

Mike, poor baby! I think everybody, ESPECIALLY people in or who went to college, got really emotional over his story. The writers do that on purpose, they try to make us cry! I have to say, you did a nice job on the rain, his horns,Β and his eye.

It was a very depressing realization for Mike and it happens a lot to the dreams of many who don't have what it takes and simply because it was out of reach. But he came to terms with it and eventually became a competent coach to Sully with no envious feelings. This film was surprisingly good!
Great job depicting his mood here, though! Personally, I think you shouldn't have added the text in the image and it would've been fine to put it in the artist's comment, or made it smaller and in a different font? I just think it distracts from the image.

Bullshit. All that snotball had to undergo was an attitude adjustment. He succeeded; he just didn't achieve it for himself but as something greater: As a team with Sullivan.
Soo.... did he fail to accomplish his dreams? I would say that is measured in how satisfied you are with your life. I would say the little one has found something special making him overall rather satisfied and filled with purpose.
Get out of that hole. You spent too much time down there. By now you should know, that what you seek is not down there. Time to crawl out and look some place else.

whos, geez, don'tΒ need to take it personalty to get angry over it.
it is true that he did find a good friend he never thought he could have and that he did he get half of what he wanted, he did make into the scarer industry even though he is not a scarer himself.Β
but i still do feel sorry for him that he worked all his life towards this one dream goal only for to shot down because he didn't what it takes.
it is not easy as that, try picturing all the ideas you have not working out and seeing everyone around be successful or actually has done something with theirs lives and slowing coming to a realize the job carrer to picked was not the best one for you.

You just seem to be down quite a lot of the time. That was my point. Seems like a waste of time.
There's a bigger picture in everything and that saved my butt a couple of times. Even if the little one banged his head against the wall for most of his life... The realization of the wall is by itself a value. He stepped aside and found a way around. He became more than he ever was in a partnership. Being part of a team and achieving his dreams... I think that is quite a lot.
And there is this saying.... Sometimes you might not get what you want, but you get what you need. Humans will never grow wings... but that doesn't stop them from flying. Just look hard enough. It's out there.

and that's my point, everything i do seems to be a waste of time, like nothing i ever do seems to get my closer to my dreams.
yeah, i kind of get your saying, but still, it seems he took the alternative thing since he could not get what he really wanted and if it was not for sully he would have never become successful because he really didn't have another plan in case his pursuit to be a scarier failed.

That's trial and error. With an answer to all questions, life would be meaningless. For me, the value of solutions lies in how hard it was to find them.
Often the solutions are in a strange, unexpected corner. For me, the solution came when my dad mentioned, that he would be clearing out his basement to have more space. Said he would throw away his old 24 year old hang glider; the worst investment of his life. I asked him to send the glider from Germany to the US. A week ago I flew over 5 hours over the Rocky Mountains, 71 miles over 19 000ft high.
You're right... I don't have scales... you could say my dream never came true. But I have wings and fly. That's the spirit of my dream.
Sometimes desires and dreams are defined too rigidly for reality. Like with Monster U. Only when all the definitions are reduced to the spirit of the dream, the dream will finally have a chance to come true.
The mean thing about life is: It requires unjustified faith to unlock the biggest treasures. You already have the key of looking for creative solutions. Just be patient and persistent... if you have faith the magic will come to you.

True, maybe some kind of unseen approach though, like with the adults where the almost saw him scurry by. Maybe if he played it closer to something like that

yeah, he could of gone for the more subtle approach, but all he really wanted was get the kids to scream to prove he was scary enough.
