Description
This is Alanna The Lioness from Tamora Pierce's series "Song of the Lioness"Details:
- done with 6B, and a lot of other pencils. 6B mainly in the background though
- time...too long
For clarification, I DID use a reference, I just don't have the link. It is a reproduction of the book art - I know it is, and I'm not claiming the idea for myself.

Since this is based on pre-existing art, and is almost a direct copy of the book cover, (even if reverse) you should link to the cover as your ref
It's really just best practice so somebody doesn't flame you or something for drawing the book cover. But anyway, it's a really beautiful drawing

Thanks! This drawing is ages old and most people recognize is as the book cover anyways. But you're right - I should edit it to add some link to the cover. (I really just never get around to it!!)

I just know some people make a hobby of flaming people they deem 'art thiefs' which can rage from anything from copying a book cover, or having a similar pose to another artist, to actual claiming of somebody else's art... So I like to try and warn people when I can, some people just go way overboard. xD

that was my favorite from that series of covers, though that was the best set all together honestly! lol These books changed my life, have read every tortall novel *excluding the newest beka cooper just saw that at the store today* love this piece

i've seen a lot of fan art for her books, but this seems so natural and REAL! this is what she looks like to me in my head, not some anime style cartoon... a real person.
