Description

My OC Mel, strolling in a small grove, enjoying the fresh air, the warm sun and all this lush vegetation surrounding her... What a pleasant life she has!  Through this picture, I tried to convey the warmth and serenity you can feel when you're strolling in the countryside or any other kind of verdant environment.

welcome
XD
Well if I know the OCs name I like to use it. I don't know, I just feel it's proper. That's what you do with people too after all.

What a lovely girl with a nice smile and pose here.I love the background as it seems to blend with her great in the scene.Even for a portrait illustration this looks surreal, again good job with the grass, you're shadows on the grass from the sunlight. And now back to Melissandre,I like what you did with the outfit, making the folds to give it demension. Her hair flows nicely,it looks natural and short but not flat!

This is excellent, I love the minute detail, including her freckles across her body!  She looks real! The sunlight is so realistic!!  Everything about it makes me wish the where I live were in full swing of spring!  This is so beautiful and cheerful!

Wow thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it! (and now I know what's the English word for these brown dots some people - including yours truly - have on their skin ^^)

OMG I'm sooo sorry for the delay! Your comment was buried deep into my reply stack Just dug it today while cleaning.

To answer your question anyway: we French peeps make a distinction between the light brown/orange freckles most commonly found on red-haired people ("taches de rousseur", roughly meaning "redness spots"), and the darker freckles on dark-haired people ("grains de beauté", that literally means "beauty beans", don't ask me why )

Don't worry about it!

How fascinating!!  I like how you have different terms for different colors!   Languages are really intriguing, you can even learn different ways of looking at things through learning other languages!  ^^

Imma just pop in the convo for fun, and just precise that the "freckles" also called "taches de rousseur" in french, are called moles in english xD "freckles" are spots that are lighter and cover the whole face sometimes, back, shoulders and arms too. Moles are the ones who are darker and single x'D they come in all sizes :'D

I just want to specify that, yes, you are correct, but freckles can occur singly, too.  Freckles and moles are biologically different - freckles are merely cells that form melanin, while moles are raised from the skin, they are clusters of these cells.  So they are made of the same thing, yet are different.  Moles are almost always separated from other moles.  Freckles do mainly form in clusters, but they can be by themselves, too.
  Thank you though! ^^

The lighting is so well made here, the lighter background and the way she is shadowed is quite dramatic. I also enjoy the soft expression you create with your character pieces.
