Although not 100% sure, I believe this is a banded garden spider, Argiope trifasciata, which is a species of Argiope spider.At any point, it was a pretty big spider, and she was eating a large grasshopper until I spooked it. I love the colors and pattern. It is a very beautiful spider.
This was taken at the Slate Run Wetlands.

Thanks! These guys are completely harmless and very docile, so there's no reason to be afraid! I've held a few of them and they just don't mind.

Now, I understand... Garden Spiders have very beautiful vibrant colors, no?...They also have beautiful spun webs....But, one thing I don't understand... It that all kinds of spiders scare me

No, not at all! In fact, they won't bite you at all unless you do something like squeeze them. They're very docile and will just live their life in their web. There's no need to be afraid of them. In fact, many spiders are the same way. They look scary, but most won't bite unless they think they're about to die.

Not at all! At least, not enough to hurt humans. In Ohio, we only have three "dangerous" venomous spiders, the Black Widow, Brown Recluse, and Yellow-Sac Spider. I don't know where you live, but at least in the Eastern USA there's essentially those three spiders that can actually hurt you, but they're uncommon to come across and only bite as a last result. You really have no reason to worry about spiders. Promise.

It was pretty big. It was definitely bigger than my thumb. It wasn't overly huge, but it was a big one.
