Description NOTE: all models here are roughly the same scale, so please don't point out which one/s is/are out of scale - I checked everything, and the resulting discrepancy here may be because of the camera angle (or your own eyes).

Whoah...that's one big sub! I haven't heard any submarine plastic models before Where did you find it?

Oh, and if you're really interested with plastic modelings, I suggest you search some Italeri/Tamiya products

There have been submarine plastic models already since naval modeling was invented, though 1/144 isn't a common scale for subs since many of them would end up as big as the one you see here.
And yeah, Trumpeter's Seawolf has been available in many hobby shops already since its release back in November 2004.

So far, there have been a bevy of submarine kits already from so many manufacturers (Dragon, Revell, Tamiya, etc.) - I also have the Alfa, Los Angeles, and Ohio class subs in 1/350 from Dragon Models still unbuilt in my closet.
Plus completed 1/700 models of the SSN-21 Seawolf and SSN-23 Jimmy Carter still in their boxes.

Hehehe, well until now I've only seen some 1:700 warships from Academy since Dragon and Trumpeter products are kinda difficult to be found here :/ The only way is probably to purchase them online

Man, even if the sub plastic kit exist here, must be some really rare items Btw, you gotta finish those models!

No kidding - even up until now, I'm still looking for a second 1/350 Los Angeles-class (which I'll build into a 688i) and a 1/350 Seawolf myself! D8

1/350 scale is huge! But actually, if you're interested they're some free battleship paper models with huge scales in the internet Although it's difficult to build one x_x

Yep, all of them, except for the RX-78-2 Gundam and the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, which were presents from my older bro.

Very nice collection. I'd like to see Zeta riding into battle atop the Seawolf. ^_^ Would be epic.

I also see one jet that is on my top five favorite aircraft list the Thunderbolt 2, and one that is the older brother of one that is on my list the Foxbat... (I really like the design and speed of the Foxhound.)

I soooo love that website. I'd really wish Jeff would more often make it up-to-date (as in add Avatar, ST '09, among many others to the scale charts), though. D:

This is very interesting.I always think that mig-25 is very large fighter but it doesn't look different from f-15

BoggeyDan In reply to ilolamai [2010-01-15 15:34:55 +0000 UTC]

The F-15 was actually originally developed as a countermeasure to Soviet interceptors such as the MiG-25, hence the similarities in basic fuselage design.
And yep, the Soviets and US were actually copying each others' designs/concepts/etc., one way or another during the Cold War (the Buran space shuttle and the Tu-160 Blackjack were prime examples).

I see Tu-160 and B-1.But which is prototype?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BoggeyDan In reply to ilolamai [2010-01-16 15:58:22 +0000 UTC]

Just as the F-15 was created in response to the MiG-25, the Tu-160 was created in response to the B-1.
With the cancellation of the B-1A, the Tu-160 went into service first - sometime before the B-1A was brought back as the reworked B-1B.

The Foxbat is indeed a larger aircraft

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BoggeyDan In reply to pauldy [2010-01-15 13:33:21 +0000 UTC]

Nope, but it comes with a same-scale VF-17 in Battroid mode.
Both modes can be built as either the D or S versions.

Here's the whole product in detail: [link]
