Description This is one of the reoccurring characters from my Star Wars Fanfiction series: Star Wars: The Shadow Wars.

Note: The information below is from my own universe which is a blend of old and new canon and it not to be considered canon in any other universe but mine. I should also mention that this character is canon (at least Legacy Canon) but its history is significantly different as far as my universe is concerned.

"Humorless but beautiful to put it simply. Compassionate, wise, ferocious when necessary, and exceptionally brave to put it in more detail. All those describe the young Princess. I like to think Jacen's grandmother is laughing at how history is repeating itself whilst giving her approval of the match. It would seem to be a tendency for the men in the family to fall for royal maidens." "Or to otherwise be a royal maiden." Anakin Skywalker and Leia Organa-Solo regarding Tenel Ka Djo.

The heiress to the throne of the Hapes Consortium, Princess Djo was born to Queen Mother Teneniel Djo of Dathomir and her husband Prince Isolder of Hapes. Tenel Ka has openly shunned her title from an early age, choosing her own path over that of her people which has angered the Hapan people including her spiteful grandmother, the former Queen Mother Ta'a Chume. When Tenel chose to join Luke Skywalker's Jedi Order, it angered them further. While at the Jedi Praxium on Yavin IV, Tenel met and befriended the Solo twins, Jacen and Jaina, along with Kento Marek, the four forming a strong friendship during their Padawan years. They didn't know she was a Princess until they were much older.

After creating her first lightsaber, Tenel would suffer a terrible accident during a sparring exercise with Jacen. Her lightsaber failed and Jacen ended up cleaving her left arm clean off below the elbow. Tenel was whisked away to Hapes where her friends finally learned about her being a Princess. She refused any form of prosthetic or cybernetic replacements for her arm, choosing instead to hone her skills and body to make up for the loss. Her relationship with Jacen became even stronger than it had been before. After the incident and with her identity as the heiress to the Hapan throne known to her friends, she decided to begin to embrace her Hapan heritage, acknowledging that she would one day inherit the throne. She insisted she be referred to as Tenel Ka, or simply Tenel, instead of her full name and title. By 28 ABY, she had been knighted as a Jedi Knight and was now an ambassador to the Republic Senate on behalf of the Hapes Consortium and would actively agree to serve as diplomat on behalf of the Republic to other systems.

In 28 ABY, however, Tenel had been sent on her mother's behalf to negotiate a new trade deal for Hapes and was in the Senate Chambers preparing to meet with the Hapan Senator when the Sith Empire attacked, killing half of the senate, including the Hapan Senator. Tenel helped many of the senators and their staff escape while fending off Sith Troopers and Dark Jedi. She then came to the aid of the Chancellor, leaping in to assist and protect her as they made their escape. After the evacuation of Yavin, Tenel Ka volunteered to join the Jedi and Republic forces to retake Yavin IV from the Sith, although they faced no resistance as the Sith had already fled the system. Afterwards, Tenel became more active with the Republic, briefly filling in as the Senator for Hapes until a replacement could be appointed by her mother. She then began to focus more on diplomatic efforts to help systems that had been touched by the war.

That same year, she was dispatched to Naboo to help negotiate it's possible secession from the Republic. She had to contend with a Sith Ambassador who secretly informed his superiors who in turn informed the Ni'Korish, an anti-Jedi terrorist organization within the Hapes Consortium that sought Tenel Ka and her mother's deaths. The Ni'Korish proceeded to infiltrate Naboo, destroying a freighter in the process, and attempted to assassinate Tenel but she managed to kill them instead. This event caused Tenel's diplomatic standing to diminish and she was forced to bring in Senator Pooja Naberrie with a proposal of neutrality for Naboo. The proposal included non-aggression pacts with both the Republic and the Sith so that both sides allowed free trade whilst forbidding attacks on Naboo.

After negotiating the treaty with Naboo, Tenel and Senator Naberrie traveled to Coruscant to meet with the Supreme Chancellor. Their meeting had to be cut short due to a meeting of the Senate to discuss the renovation of the old Jedi Grand Temple on Coruscant which left herself, Anakin Solo, and the droids R2-D2, C-3PO, and HK-47 to themselves. They were headed towards the Hapan Embassy on Coruscant when they diverted to the site of the Grand Temple. While there they were attacked by a team of Bounty Hunters employed by the Sith Empire (and secretly on behalf of Tenel Ka's own grandmother, whom she suspected for the Ni'Korish attack). The Bounty Huntress Aurra Sing personally pursued Tenel and the others into the temple but Tenel managed to evade her before finding herself within the old Jedi Grand Council Chambers. There she met the ghost of Jedi Grand Master Yoda who warned her that her fate was bound to that of her people. She learned that her enemies would only reveal themselves once she had died and she concocted a plan to fake her death. She managed to deceive Sing and everyone else into believing she had been killed when in truth she had survived. Afterwards she fled to Dagobah in self-imposed exile to await the signal that it was time for her to reappear.

While on Dagobah, she found the Dark Side Cave where she saw a vision of her future. A few months later, Tenel Ka was visited by Anakin Skywalker who sought out the same cave whilst searching for answers regarding how to save his former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, now the Empress Darth Akul, from the Dark Side. She led Anakin to the cave and later escorted him back to his ship, leaving him with a message to pass along to Jacen. Anakin then left her in peace and she has been hidden on Dagobah ever since. Only Jacen, Luke, Leia, Galen, and Anakin Skywalker knows of her survival while only Anakin knows her location.

Tenel Ka is a very serious woman. Despite both Kento and Jacen's best efforts, Tenel Ka is not easily amused if at all. Still she is a considerate but cunning woman, capable of keen deduction and recognizing sly political maneuvering. After her injury she trained intensively to wield a lightsaber with only one hand. Her lightsaber was a unique Rancor tooth lightsaber but was stolen by Aurra Sing as proof of her "kill." After losing her lightsaber, Jacen gifted her his lightsaber as a gesture of his love for her. He quickly replaced it with a duplicate which was later destroyed and replaced by a cross guarded lightsaber.

Is she going to make a reappearance? I really hope that u include Allana Solo in this fanfic and that Jacen and Tenel Ka r openly together, rather than how they ended up in Legends

I don't know if the series will go long enough to see Allana appear but Tenel will reappear, for sure.

What about how Grievous killed all the Dathomirians at the end of that Darth Maul comic?

Clearly it's non-canon in my universe. The events of the Clone Wars Episode where Grievous went to war against Mother Talzin's Nightsister Clan is canon but beyond that...nope.

I'm quite proud of my ability to "amputate" Tenel's left hand. Microsoft Paint was a big help there.

Ok, "psychic". What is my favorite Jedi Knight in the universe?

Hahaha. It is so simple: Revanchist, Master of Light and Dark and husband of Bastila Shan.
