Description
Here's another painting of Samus Aran from Nintendo's Metroid. She's got her gun that she uses in Metroid: Zero Mission, and in Super Smash Brothers Brawl (can't wait for that to come out here).There's some things I'm not happy with in this, like the gun and her hands. They're hard to draw, of course, but I tried. Her gun-holding-hand is kinda crap too, but I used a stock photo reference to check, but the handle of the gun in the photo wasn't a thick one, so I had to guess what the hand would look like holding a thicker handle. Ah well
Pretty happy with the rest of it, though. Did more crazy colouring, it's fun, but I need to learn more about shadows and highlights. Guess it's more fun to be creative with that, though

Me too, but I've never played a Smash Brothers game, but I'm told it's lots of fun, and a feast of button mashing with sweet attacks and stuff. So I think I'll really like it
Have you played Prime 3? And any other Primes? I loooove Prime 3. I beat it the other day, and I think I'll replay the end boss battle just for fun, it was grouse

I dig Smash Bros even though it's not really my cup of tea. The 4 player mayhem is undeniably awesome.
I gots Prime 3 and have finished the first two. Only about half way through 3 at the moment... kinda got a little sidetracked and stalled. I think it was sidelined by Galaxy and now Zack and Wiki

Yeah, you might have some trouble adjusting to the old control style. it was tight back in the day though, worth persevering.
As for Prime3, if my memory serves me correctly, I'm up to some sort of war gollom boss in some phazon cave or something. I think you had to blow bits off him to be able to actually hurt him and they kept growing back. I got really frustrated and haven't been back to it. It's probably really easy

I should be right with the controls, just seems a little confusing, you strafe left and right with the left and right shoulder buttons yeah? must need some hand coordination for that lol, I love the Wii's controls, so easy to get used to.
Ohhh, that boss is fucking annoying! I totally know what you mean, it took me like 5 tries to finally beat him, I gave up for two weeks and then picked it up again and beat him first try finally. Maybe you need some tips? Go to IGN, they have good tips for that boss. Once you know what to do, it is quite simple. but still time consuming and a real bitch, but I'll give you a tip: shoot those red orbs on his body, and keep shooting one at a time, once one is glowing gold or silver or something not red, then use hypermode to really destroy it. But that means you still have to shoot those orbs he grabs with his magic hands, to keep him from recharging again, which is fucked but once you get the aim right, that part's easy. IGN could probably describe how to beat him better than I can lol, but seriously, fuck. that. boss.

I've just begun Prime 1, and man, I find the controls real weird haha. Like using the r button to look up and down, strafing's a bit weird, and the scanning's a bit weird, I like how in Prime 3 the entire HUD is able to scan things and the scannable objects are highlighted. But I like it so far! I just wish they'd make Prime 1 and 2 Wii remote compatible >_<

The biggest problem with Prime 1 was the scanning as it gave you no easy clue as to whether you had scanned something or not. They introduced colour coding in the second one and it was a godsend. There is nothing more tedious in the games than scanning and the simpler they made it the better. You'll get used to the controls if you can persevere, they were really tight back in the day.

I hope they do that, they'd sell heaps, because I think a lot of people enjoy the freeness of the Wii remote's fps capability, especially for Prime 3, I know I do!
That's what I like about the scanning too. And the colour coded scan outlines are a big help, so you don't have to go around scanning enemies you already have because the outlines turn green when you've scanned them. Great thing for me as I was always scanning things cos I'm compulsive a bit like that
I will get used to the controls, but you do need a bit of coordination, like, I'd do one thing and it was wrong, and my brain couldn't communicate with my hands properly lol - but seeing as it was my first go, I think I did alright, I'm up to... the first part on Tallon Overworld, the desert ancient place thing lol, beat the security system and got my missiles and morph ball back, now off to find the rest!

Ohhh, yes, I've been thinking of drawing Alita lately! But I still have to buy the last two volumes of Last Order for inspiration, but I think I'll try drawing her one day soon

Ohhh yes, I can't wait for the movie, have you heard anything more about it? Like, have there been any released photos or info about the movie? Perhaps once they're completely underway in production there will be some cool news, as far as I know they're only in the very early stages of that.

No the details are still pretty vague. Doubt we'll hear anything else til the end of the year when they have something to show. I'd love to see the casting list! I know it isn't going to be true to the manga though... It certainly isn't going to be as violent (shame that!).
I want to buy the manga for the same reason you prefer to buy old games. I love the series and would actually hate to cheat Yukito Kishiro out of his hard earned cash.

Yeah, that's true, they won't tell us anything until the movie's really underway, sucks though, I want more information! I hope they do make Alita entirely CG like they did with Gollum, that way she can be completely original and uncomparable to an actress, and use a fitting voice actress.
Yeah, it wouldn't be exactly like the manga, too damn violent, and the story's pretty complex, and I read Cameron wants to just do the first three volumes, where Ido finds Alita, then Alita meets Hugo, and the Motorball storyline... if they do do the Motorball part, that would be so cool to see. There was this short movie made a few years ago of a Motorball sequence, entirely CG, it was pretty damn awesome, have you seen that?
Ooh, that figure's pretty damn cool! Perhaps when the movie comes out they'll release another action figure for it... they seem to love cashing in on action movies like Batman and Transformers, making figures of them, I'd really like that if they did that with Alita

Yeah I saw that short about 6 years ago, just when I was getting into BAA after seeing the anime... I remember it taking ages to download. Bloody dial-up! Having Alita in all CG would kick so much ass. They would be able to depict her accurately. An actress would only bungle things up I fear. Besides how the hell would an actress imitate all those Panzer Kunst moves!? Surely a hazard for all us fanboys and girls. Oh and the motorball story will be great. I reckon it will be quite tongue in cheek... Oh please God, include Tiegel ([link] Even I had to look up his friggin' name!) ! He's so utterly pointless!
Rumour also has it that there will be a game to go along with it. Now I've played the original PSX game, Martian Memory and it was very very entertaining... Even if I WAS relying on the manga as reference and my girlfriend at the time to translate the Japanese text for me, it was a good RPG with great combat and (luckilly) very true to the manga. I think if they stick to a similar formula, they can't go wrong but knowing movie cash-ins (especially action movies) it'll just be a load of button mashing. It's all speculation though so no loss or gain really.
I really want that figure. I searched on ebay for a figure a couple years back and someone was trying to flog some poor excuse of a shaven, wigged and terribly dressed barbie doll as an Alita figure. Sure it looked a tiny bit like Alita (They got the hair a bit right, I'll give them that) but I wouldn't have bought it.
