Samus Aran, from Nintendo's Metroid series.She's in the Varia Suit from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, an awesome game which is very challenging to me, but then again I suck at shooting games.
This painting's nowhere near finished, but I thought I'd submit it to show what I've been doing. The lineart was a big challenge but I am quite happy with it. I've never drawn mechanical things before, well, to this degree. I used an official Metroid Prime 3 artwork as a reference, and took her helmet off because I like her hair.
Do you think I should finish it off? I'm thinking of doing the 3-colour-hard-paint job, which isn't really cel-shading, so I'm not gonna call it that. The official artwork's colouring is really detailed, so I'll have to simplify my version, which will be pretty hard with my style of colouring, but I think I'll be up for the challenge.

Why does Samus look so unhappy in this picture, sometimes I think she hates being a bounty hunter and having to wear armor all the time

I totally get your sentiment, but perhaps you're reading into the picture too much? 
I agree, she must hate having to be a bounty hunter sometimes, but as a warrior, she knows her duty is lonely, especially out there in space. But I also think when she gets back in her ship, she relaxes and has time to meditate, to know and accept her place in life, and with all her popwers, knows that she's being the best she can be to save the galaxies from destruction by them damn Space Pirates

Have ya gotten around to getting photos of your Zero Suit Samus costume? It'll be bad-ass to see I'm sure ^___^ (Have you ever thought about making a Varia Suit costume? I bet it'd be really challenging to make!)

Thank you so much, love! Yeah, it was tough to draw, but if I didn't have a reference I'd be totally screwed and end up making it look not like how it should! I will try to finish this, however the challenge is pretty daunting and most of the time I'm not up to challenges >_> But I will try!

*gasp* Nevar? Oh geez, lol. Go buy it now, seriously ^_^ It's very addicting. I still remember the original for N64 and pray it comes out for Virtual Console someday soon. (Nostalgia! ^^) We always seem to have copies of SSBM here in my city, but the price hasn't budged for years >>; I'm sure eBay has some cheap copies for sale, if not GameStop.com or someplace similar.
I still have to save up for Brawl >.< I put a down payment on my copy, but have to make sure I have the rest of it when I go to pick it up >>
