Well, I like to think I know, but, it always helps to hear someone say it. It means I've connected with someone. Thanks for diggin' my stuff.

Wow. That's quite the compliment. I'm not sure if I deserve such praise, but, I'll take it!!
I've alway had a different take on Bats, and it's always evolving. I've been re-reading Batman Year 100 by Paul Pope, and I think his Batman is genius!

great face and great shadows....
i think with Bats, you should always stick to the "Tarzan rule"
Tarzan swings through the trees- his physique should reflect that. You may not be able to put your finger on it, but the best Tarzan drawings always have overdeveloped shoulders, forearms and legs...because that's what he over uses.
I think Bats should be attatcked the same way. He would have massively overdeveloped shoulders and forearms. Within human range of course- but still big. His mid-section would be packed and compact from all his crunching style movements. Most likely he'd have pretty hefty legs too.

Thanks. I love how you can just put a splotch of black and make something feel like it's got volume and weight. Thanks for the comment.

the face is great - angsty, menacing
and i think he's bulky enough
nice cowl effect on the cloak too

Honestly, if I do nothing in comics, I just want to have one Batman story published. Then I could die a happy man.

First off, great pose man I really like the lean. Secondly, I really like the angles on the mask it's not as round as usually drawn by other artists. Awesome work man!

Thanks. I do alot of underdrawing on the mask part to get the planes of the head. I like the angularity of it too. Makes him look a bit more menacing, and also looks like he's got some protection.

Actually, I think this is just the right amount of bulk. You really nailed the face.
