Again, another quick doodle. I've been really stuck lately artistically. Some of it is thinking about the few projects I have to get done, the other is thinking of putting something new in my portfolio that will garner some attention.Dan Didio of DC is going to be at the Emerald City Con, and I'd really like him to look at my stuff, and let me know what I need to improve on and all that.
I'd like to get his attention with a decent three page sequential of ol Bats. One, he's iconic enough to garner some initial interest, and two, if I can find a unique way to present him, that will get him flippin' through the pages.
So thinking about this, I just started playing with the shapes and trying to come up with something powerful and svelt, and menacing.

Looks good! I would really like to see your sequential batman work when you produce it. There is great energy in this pic--I think it would translate well into sequentials!

I think so too. I really want to stay away from getting pigeonholed into a animated book. I'd really like to do something of a one-shot, or limited series. That way, I don't have to conform to the current continuity design and style and can really play.

came up with a 'batboy'...
got looking through batman stuff to get a feel on who he is...
found out he had a son named damian... but it doesn't go with the story this batboy came out of...
so at first i wanted him to be the fourth robin and the first black kid to wear it... but the fourth was a girl and tim still got the mantle so i looked for a different identity...
ended up with batboy... an orphan from a story i'm thinking of writing about 'alfred's orphanage' and the rphans who get trained there to become the next next generation of heroes...
i don't have any refs of him alone but i have pieces of character design here [link] at the upper right corner... it's the closest i got to a finished piece of him...
can i ask you to give him a shot in your quest for the perfect batman?
