Adding to my annual Horror movie classics series for Halloween, here's my second caricature of Karloff, this time as The Mummy from the 1932 Universal film. While I consider this movie the weakest of the classic Universal lineup (sequels not included) it's still a great film and Boris delivers a devilishly good performance. Karloff is always fun to draw. Despite the style of the picture, Karloff actually only appears as I drew him for two brief scenes in the first Mummy film. He is fully restored to his former self for most of the movie. It wasn't ntil the sequels to The Mummy that the monster always appeared in his familiar, decaying, bandaged form.Here are the other pictures from the past two Halloweens. So far, there's only one non-Universal picture:

My horror/caricature art achieves success at many other places, but Deviantart doesn't house many people who care for that kind of thing. Usually, if it's not fan art for a modern cartoon or video game, nobody really cares much about it on DA.

unfortunately deviantart is not the place to peddle tastes finer than sonic the hedgehog and such
of course there is a fair share of good people who do find success, but there are other sites that it can be done better on.

Yeah, it doesn't bother me too much. I've been on this site for over 5 years, I've come to accept it for what it is - a fan page. I have my tumblr page up too, and selling art at cons really helps me realize that a lot of my art is much more popular than Deviantart may present it to be.

yeah... i mostly am here at this point because its an easy hub for me to post all my art, and I have a lot of friends on here.

Yeah, it's not a bad spot to post artwork at, you just can't base it around favorites/comments. Early on in my DA career I based my success on my DA feedback too strongly. That will only lead to disappointment. I learned several years back just to post what I like here and that's that.
