Description
This is my humble tribute to Alphonse Mucha's work and at the same time my first depiction of Galadriel, Lady of Lórien.
I wanted to depict her with her mirror and ewer, but I decided to leave that one for later and go for something simpler, just her and the cup of farewell:
"Now Galadriel rose from the grass, and taking a cup from one of her maidens she filled it with white mead and gave it to Celeborn.
'Now it is time to drink the cup of farewell,' she said. `Drink, Lord of the Galadhrim! And let not your heart be sad ...'
I know this scene does not take place at night, but I wanted to paint a night scene, so please, don't waste your time nitpicking.
The background is based on a concept for Lórien from the film trilogy. It has taken me long days to finish both the background and the "halo" but I'm happy with the final result.
