I like that you see that, this is a self portrait of the 20 year old me, a troubled boy, a gentle sensitive boy filled with an unnatural inner rage that i couldn't properly express. Thanks for the comment.

You can feel the strengh and longing, strong feelings of a young man. Looks like you've found a beautiful way to express your rage and all the strong emotions that make us shake like a candle in the wind. The black stripes here feel like a kind of iron bars. They kind of enclose this sensitive and vulnerable face. But if you look closely, they are open and can easily be bent.

Yes that strength and longing was misdirected and repressed but has finally found expression through art.
I hadn't seen the prison allegory before, you are so right.
This is a prison of my own making, the concept and its ability to contain me is illusionary.Β 
Those bars dissolve once one sees that all beliefs are lies.
