He's somehow touching me, hiding a lot and showing so much. He's sad and shy, and he's sensual and proud at the same time. And if you turned the kaleidoscope a bit, you would find other colours that lighten his inner strength.

That's right there's a huge amount of confidence that's evident in his gaze
and while his eyes convey his inner strength is body tells a different story.
For me this is a universal truth we are all the gods of creation yet we play
at being poor little humans, hiding in the poor little stories we create for
ourselves. So many of us know it and ignore it, so many of us know it but
can't break free and occasionally some of us become what we truly are.

Maybe it's because we have to learn, before we can rise, how to fall. And falling is much more difficult than rising.

If you like to, you can tell me what you see in the libertine and what you intended to express...

Yes good point T, huge changes occur in peoples lives after they've hit rock bottom but it takes a lot of letting go to get there, one has to give up, stop resisting and accept the misery that comes with been near the bottom.
From there it's a slow, beautiful climb up.

What i intended to portray was what you saw in him, i'm very pleased you saw it. I was trying to show the dualistic personality of the performer, off stage, shy, gentle, slightly insecure. Once on stage they become something they can't seem to achieve in the world, powerful, energetic, boastful, confident and totally self assured.

- Yes, I know. All we don't want to hear. A painful process.

-  Perhaps you captured the moment after the curtain has fallen, the land in between the two states, the emptiness after giving it all. I'm going to keep that subject in mind.

Yes thats a good point, hadn't thought of that,
what a place that must be. Helps to explain the
excessive drug use of a lot of artists/musicians.
"The high you can't sustain"

I'd really like to know you're process, you've got
me thinking about it and i wondering what your
experience is, how you choose a subject and where
you go from there.
