I prefer Kili as well, but you gotta give his brother some credit... Peter Jackson didn't.
Basically, Fili's only line throughout the whole trilogy was "Kili." And his death scene was simply not thought out at all! He should have died side by side with his brother or defending Thorin, not in the sucky way they chose!!!!! (Stabbed in the back and dumped off to the side like so much rubbish.)
Man!!! I could have written a better ending in my sleep!
The same characters would have died, but in a way that honors and befits who they were!
I just remember watching the last movie and being unable to cry because I was too shocked and upset at how they chose to end it. Further more, Tauriel and Leggy should have done more actual fighting in the war and she should not have been made to seem so weak over love. That wasn't who she was. She would have gone up there stealthily taking out everything in her path till she got to Kili! They would have fought side by side. Then Bolg could come along and beat the tar out of them and then Kili could die but in a more romantic way with Fili there too. Fili would have to leave his brother to help Thorin and then he could die fighting at least and And possibly they could have had Tauriel die as well because that would have just been more powerful. (And she would be with KILI in death)

Hahaha, I understand what you're feeling (I wanted to do a stupid joke with Fili/feeling, but ahem, it's not the time for this)
I loved BOFTA; I found the battle epic, Thorin's death gave me chills, and when Kili has been killed (Kili killed ^^... no no sorry I was supposed to be serious), I was like:
It was heart-breaking that Tauriel survive, because when you know that elves live almost forever, well... She will walk in starlight forever alone
But FILI... No! His death wasn't epic at all! I didn't fight (he didn't have the time for that!) It is really unfair...

I think the only one that had a cool death was Thorin!! He more or less died as he should have. (fighting)
And that part where Thorin is dying and Bilbo asks him if he can see the Eagles coming..... ....it just made me all
It still gets me when I think about it.
I know Evangeline Lilly said, in an interview, that she was disappointed her character didn't get to fight more in the third movie.
In an off note, I like the Bard and all, but I think they gave him a bigger part than our precious dwarves and even Bilbo. All in all, I feel like Peter could have done better, but the movie was still pretty good considering.
I'm still kinda pissed that the only kiss Kili and Tauriel shared was when he was dead and could not experience it.

Thorin's death... During this scene, my friends asked me "are you OK, Jade?" and I answered "I'm not gonna be OK anymore..."
It stills give me chills... Bilbo's reaction, and all... (I'm going to cry alone in a corner)
OMG yes it can't be considered as a kiss!!! That's sooooo cruel! Poor Kili! Poor Tauriel! Poor fangirls XD

I just go on Pinterest and pin every single picture and gif I can find of Kili and Tauriel/Thorin till I feel like I can make an imaginary world where they still exist.
