Here we have another commission for my good man . This time I did chapter artwork for section 22 of his crossover story series “A New Dawn”. Just by looking at this pic you can tell the action is really heating up in this arc so make sure you get over there and read it!

Once again I was essentially given creative license to do what I do best here. I created an image that captured the essence of the chapter. During this span the story is told from multiple angles and viewpoints, so I tried to match that a little bit in this picture.

Sonic and Shadow are putting on a show as they are locked in combat. Sonic’s design here was built to show off his fantastic and trademark speed with a stylized after image among other things. Shadow's pose demonstrates his overwhelming power with an influx of Chaos energy. We also see Rainbow Dash power up to her own Super form (Super Rainbow Dash for those not in the know) using the Elements of Harmony, as she prepares to lend her friend a helping hand… or hoof.

Cities were not meant to hold exciting and electrifying battles between super powered juggernauts so the destruction effects continue to abound. The tighter background really allowed me to not only focus on the characters, but add a more “personal” touch to the devastation. I am pretty sure that grey building will not be up to code anytime soon.
