Did you draw this on a tablet? Or did you scan it and then color it? It looks like the offspring of a manga poster and a classical painting!
*^-^*

Your technique is beautiful and the composition is dynamic. I can't wait to see your works in the future.

sure thing.^_^
I use a mix of a golden brown an golden yellow. I start with the golden brown color for a base. (it can be slightly dark) then I add my shade using a darker golden brown. Then I take the golden yellow an add highlights to the hair. but I spread them through out the hair but only in the area where the sun (light sorce) will hit it. then I take a darker shade than my shadow an shade in to my harts content. you might want to make a color pallet first with the colores that you want to use so that way you don't have to go searching for a particular color again.
And when coloring I try not to stay in one particular area casue the color is spread through out the hair. just keep in mind the light sorce an where your shadows an highlights with show. ^_^ other than that it's really all about practice (boy haven't you heard that a million times ) but it dose a lot of good. I've been drawing for a little over 5 years an CGing for about 3 to 4 years. An I still think I have a lot more to learn (which I do ^_^) Just never give up on your art.

Yah I know what you mean. but many of the great artist here on DA sometimes don't have the time to reply to coments. an when they log in to DA they may have tons of comments.
I use Adobe Photoshop 4 (editor). I used to use Adobe Photoshp Elements (which is really no different to the editor one. only the set up of it.) an the tools I use to color just the plain old brush tool ^_^

Wow. . . it must take a lot of practice to make such straight lines with the brush tool!!

ok *disclamer* I used to use a mouse when I did my CGing. But then I finaly got the money to get a tablet so that's the only way that I could ever make a straight line. if you notice on my older pieces that I really couldn't make a straight line. but I just love my tablet. If you ever get the chance to get one. I sugest you do so. You will love it so much. (that's after you finaly get used to how it works ^_^)

Yeah. . . I'd really like one, but I just don't know. I mean, they're kind of expensive and I don't know if I want to spend that much money on something that isn't that impertinate. I'm still considering whether or not to buy one and if so, what one?

Ok I'm not trying to get you to get one. but if you like how some artists do their coloring. well many of them use a tablet. an that's how they get that result. maby right now might not be the right time to get one. but I'm sure that in the future when your art work has improved you'll probably want to get one. But It's your choice ^_^ don't let me push you into it. I just happen to looooooove mine a lot

I always have trouble with my color choices. To be hones sometimes I don't think that the colors look all that great. but in reality they look just right. ^_^
