Another sketch, playing around with how I want to do work digitally. On my first playthrough, as a Dalish, I kind of felt sorry for Jowan, and then when I played my mage, I realized why Jowan did what he did. Then I felt even sorrier. So I wanted to sketch out the scene where my M!Surana meets up with him again in Redcliffe.Originally, I did color it, but when I started putting some blood on Jowan ('cause he was tortured), I realized I liked it better in black and white.

Jowan I actually really was pissed off at (first played mage origin) and then with all the stuff he did at redcliffe I was pretty mad.
But he seemed so honest in trying to help...

This scene makes me sad, because it would've been the perfect time to pick him up as a companion. DAMMIT BIOWARE FOR DESTROYING MY DREAMS OF A FULL MAGE PARTY.T_T

I love how this looks sketchy, but with a lot of detail in the style itself. The shadows and lighting really draws the attention to their expressions, but the blood immediately demands the eye's attention. It's heartbreaking and wistful at the same time. Poor Jowan!

And I agree, the black and white/sepia makes the presence of the blood that much more pronounced and sort of tragic

i very good remember this moment. i want to draw this scene too) On my first playthrough, i also played with mage's character and it was very sad met Jowan in again, but already in the prison. thank you) very nice draw ^^
