Description I wanted to see exactly what a more relaxed, smug version of Turbo's winning pose would look like when he wasn't pixelated in 8-bit, and not terrifyingly high def either, and this is the result that the pencil bestowed upon the paper. Mostly this was an excuse to tweak his design just a little bit so the proportions matched those of King Candy on a closer degree, like the scale, the build, the face and the overall gloating smugness.

I really wish he'd gotten more screen time so I'd have more to work with in terms of poses and knowledge about his inner workings, but I suppose that mystique was what made him so interesting and thus one of my favorite characters. Was he really just playing up a persona while in disguise, or was acting like a wise cracking loon really his personality? And if so, did he torment the twins with bad puns day in and day out in between quarter alerts all for his own twisted amusement?

I hope that's a serious yes.

Aw, thank you so much! I really tried upping the confident, smug ante on Turbo's smirk, perhaps due to having creamed the twins in a race, and his casual treatment of the trophy by using it as a kickstand just accentuated his ego, as if he was saying, 'Yeah, I'm the best racer ever, I know it and I'm okay with that.', but not actually saying it out loud.

I know I would. Heck, I do.

Yess you capture that perfectly! :'D That's exactly what I thought, plus the fact that he's got sooo many other trophies. That expression of his says it all. :3 I noticed his legs look more like KC's is it just me? I like it!

It's not just you! I redesigned him a bit so Turbo'd be more KC-esque and that was one of the details I'd added in. I thought a cartoonier version of him'd be a fun change up to do, and that was one of the features I was determined to make sure I didn't miss, those thin little legs. I'm thrilled you like it!

XD You'd think he wouldn't be able to run very fast with those toothpicks, but he certainly proved us all wrong when he was being chased by Ralph. Wing? Oh, do you mean the seat cushion? Y'know I never really realized it when drawing it, but you're right, it DOES look like a wing. I'd been following the cushion pattern on the back of the KC racer for a reference in terms of angles, and now that I look at the model again, it really does look like a wing. Well, given he's the fastest and best racer ever, that does seem appropriate.

What? No, don't be embarrassed, there's nothing to be embarrassed about and I didn't mean to embarrass you. It really does look like a wing. I checked and everything. And thank you, I really worked at trying to make it as close to the original as possible, yet still transfer into a higher resolution setting. The KC cart did end up taking over a few elements, but for the most part I think it worked in being specifically the Turbomobile.

Oh, okay. Good. Nope, you're not the only one who calls the Turbomobile the Turbomobile. The way I figure it, if Batman gets a Batmobile, the Pope gets a Popemobile and Oscar Meyer gets a Weinermobile, then Turbo having a Turbomobile isn't that far a stretch.

Hmm, a bit of a departure from your usual style of drawing Turbo here. It's interesting how you made the proportions of both him and his kart significantly more cartoony, in keeping with some of what we saw of Turbo Time in the movie. And yes, much like you, I wish that we had some indication of what his actual personality was like.

By the by, did you happen to see that the second oneshot of the drabblefic has been up for a while?

Mm, the cartoony element was really what I was aiming for. I couldn't help but notice how cartoony he really was, as was King Candy and a lot of the other characters, and I thought a 2D element would be a rather visual twist on his appearance. I think more insight into the actual character of Turbo would be really a gift from the production team. Here's hoping they bestow it when the film's released.

Ooh, yes, yes I did. I managed to get time to read it, and I really liked how you executed the whole thing, but I hadn't had time to sit down and really write a proper review that'd do it justice. I've been running on caffeine, adrenaline, and all cylinders for the past couple days working my tail off, so that's why it wasn't nearly as prompt as usual.
