Description

Some time has passed ever since the battle with the Masked Warrior, with the group now in Cai's house for quite a while. They found Danny, Cai is under control since Grando is possessing her, and Kaila is back. Though now, Cai is bound and tied up thanks to Idris and Sabini, using magical chains to make sure she doesn't break out when she woke up. Grando is now out of Cai's body, and without a body to be in since Dark Cai doesn't want Grando to possess Danny. Besides, they need him because he would know how to deal with Dark. But now, Dark Cai sighed. It's now time to tell the truth to her group, not knowing how they react. She sat in front of them, with a serious face. "Hey, I think it's time I told you everything that happened. And I mean everything, including the stuff I kept from Idris and Sabini."

''Okay shoot.'' Kaila said, choosing to stand as most of the group had sat down.

"Okay, so don't freak out, BUT... I'm not Cai. The real Cai is over there." Dark Cai pointed to the tied up and unconscious Masked Warrior. "And I am NOT your enemy, believe me."

''WHAT?!'' Idris gasped covering her mouth.

Kaila looked over at the real Cai before turning to Dark Cai. ''But Cai, we both know that's not true, you answered my question about our childhood when she couldn't.''

"The old wizard over there gave me this." Dark Cai took out the device Grando gave her and put it on the table. "It allows me to swap certain aspects with her, but... I don't wanna use it anymore. But I had to, or else you would attack me and Cai would continue her rampage." She then looked at Astral, hoping that she would also vouch for her.

''YOU FAKE! You had help from that jerk Grando!'' Idris lunged up towards Dark Cai but was stopped by Kaila, who looked perplexed.

''Astral, is this true?'' Kaila tilted her head.

Astral sighed. ''It's true, after I got body switched with Ginyu. I used my astral form to survive, but was stranded. Then I found out Towa had mind-controlled my mom, that's when Dark Cai helped me...'

Astral was wondering why she asked such a question. ''Oh Cai's my mom, sorry I thought you knew that.''

''Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaani!?'' Kaila's mouth dropped.

"Yeah, that's true. And Astral has helped me as well, freeing me from Dark's influence and preventing him from possessing me. I am sorry I had to trick, but you wouldn't believe me and would attack me otherwise." Dark Cai said, looking over to Idris.

''But you still had us fighting against the real Cai! So shut up!'' Idris was still trying to get past Kaila, who easily held her back with one hand.

''We both won a mental battle against her boss Dark together, he then denounced her. So she doesn't have to be helping us right now. She could just leave, but she chose to stay, I think that's worth something.'' Astral tried to convince Idris.

Dark Cai took the device back up, looking at it once more. "If it means anything, I can swap back that memory of your Majin master back into Cai's head. I have no problem doing it.

Astral had died down a little of her frustration. Kaila meanwhile was too busy looking at Astral, they had met once before but had no idea they were related. Astral was on the run from her father. ''Astral... but that time we met, you said your mother died?''

Idris quickly smiled however. ''Yeah we brought her back don't worry! Black magic is supposed to be off limits but we said to hell with the rules.''

Kaila looked back over to Dark Cai. ''So that means you killed her... Why?''

"I was still influenced by Dark's power, wanting to replace and become the real Cai because I come from a ruined future. I wanted to have a better life and work for Dark at the same time, but as Cai rather than as Soara. I took Cai's original body from Danny when he wasn't looking, and that's when I started my personal mission of replacing her as Dark Cai. And... would I really need to call myself 'Dark Cai' anymore?" Dark Cai thought to herself, and off topic considering she doesn't work for Dark and doesn't hold any malefic intentions to everyone in the room.

''I see, so you're actually in Cai's original body...'' Kaila laughed a little. ''She lost it from all the way back at the start of the contest, so long ago...she never actually got it back, only a copy.'' She looked behind to Idris. ''Any chance you can lift the control spell Idris? Seems like an easy feat for a witch.''

Idris quickly looked down though. ''Even back in my body, that demon Towa is obviously too strong, Grando could, but he vanished.''

"He did? Huh, well okay then. Grando helped us too by the way. Because of him, we found Danny." Dark Cai looked over to the couch Danny was laying on, still possessing another's body.

''Don't get used to it.'' Idris shot back a serious stare at Dark Cai. ''He'll be nice at first, maybe helping you, then he'll want a payback, something you can't ever afford to give.''

''Edgy.'' Kaila added.

''So how are we going to break the control?'' Astral sighed, still at square one.

''I maybe have an idea... but I'm not sure.'' Kaila pondered to herself, looking at Dark Cai.

"You have an idea? Well, then let's hear it." Dark Cai sat on a nearby chair, waiting for what idea Kaila had to say.

"Finish it how it started, with a body swap." Kaila smiled, still processing her plan.

"... What? I'm sorry Kaila, but you're gonna have to explain a bit more." Requested Dark Cai, who is confused by what Kaila means.

"Well, I don't know if the spell affects the body she's in, or the soul itself. If it's the first one, you have experience in breaking control. Who better to break the spell?"

"Umm... I don't have experience in breaking control, Astral does. But, that might work. We can give it a shot, but how are we gonna pull off the actual body swap?" Dark Cai questioned, not seeing any way to pull of a swap.

"Oh does the device you have not allow it?"

Dark Cai had almost forgotten, since she doesn't like using it. "Oh wait, yeah it does. But again, I don't like using it at all. But... maybe it can have someone else other than me swap with her?"

"Huh? Like who?" Kaila wasn't expecting Dark Cai to suggest this.

"I have a hunch that I think either Astral or even Sabini can do it, considering that they can just go into their ghostly form. After the swap, they can just get out of Cai's body until we figure out how to break Towa's control... If it is that kind of control.

Sabini in the corner raised her hand, as if for permission to speak. "I can't anymore, I've stayed in this body too long... so maybe Astral could?"

"You want me to switch with mom!?" Astral gasped.

Kaila frowned slightly, it was unfair to Astral and to Cai, but maybe it was a plan that could work. "The other alternative is to continue switching traits, so you'd be half of the other, meaning the control would only be half strength."

"The point is to try and free Cai front their control, not spread it. I should know, that's how Dark gained control of the Future Time Patrol and I. But Astral, if Cai is still controlled after the swap, she can't do much in Ginyu's body. Plus, I did see you try to switch with her before Kaila came." Ginyu's body was weaker than everyone here, except for maybe Idris and Sabini. It wouldn't backfire, and Dark Cai knew she could take on Ginyu of all people... well, his body in this case.

Kaila looked down, defeated. "Fine." She sighed. "Can you even add new people onto that device of yours?" She asked Dark Cai.

"And Astral are you okay with this?" Kaila asked.

Astral didn't answer looking down. Shy at the prospect of being in her mothers body, secretly glad at escaping Ginyu's form.

Dark Cai once again looked at the device, and looked around on it. She then found that in a corner, there was a button that said 'scan'. She pressed it, and then a pulse went out in the room. The device scanned the area and added everyone to it's selection other than the 2 Cais. Kaila, Idris, Sabini, Astral, the body Danny was possessing, and some... little blob? "Okay yeah, it can. And it looks like I can select each one as well, because I see arrows around each person on a sidebar."

Kaila sighed again, taking a step towards Cai to look at her. "Fine then. Do it before I change my mind."

Going to Astral, Dark Cai tried to comfort her. "Hey, I know it might be uncomfortable but it's so we can free your mom. Hopefully it works like we said it would, but we won't know until we try. And you do wanna save her, right?"

"... I guess so..." she sighed, in a slight sulk.

"Alright, get ready." Dark Cai then selected the body swap function, causing both Astral and the Masked Warrior to exchange bodies as both their souls flew into each other.

Astral's vision was a blur as she shifted herself, noticing her hands and legs were bound. "Huh?" Meanwhile, Ginyu's body dropped down onto the floor.

"Astral? Cai? Can any one of you hear me?" Called out Dark Cai.

"... Yeah? Astral's vision started to return to normal. Her voice was also at a higher pitch than being in Ginyu's body. "D-did it work?"

Meanwhile the real Cai, now stuck in Ginyu's body sprung to life. Quickly realizing something was wrong. "UGH WHAT!? IS THIS...IS THIS GINYUS BODY!?" As she eyed her new form in disgust, while also seeing who else was in the room, she quickly focused on Dark Cai.

"Okay, seems like Astral is still herself, but did Cai's mind control break?" Dark Cai looked at Cai, who was now inhabiting Ginyu's body.

"UGH! You...You bitch!!" Cai scrambled towards Dark Cai in attack mode.

Easily, Dark Cai was now behind the real Cai. "Everyone, don't do anything yet. Alright, time for a test." Dark Cai hovered in the air, looking down. Do you love Towa, even though she's a witch bitch?"

Cai growled. "How dare you! She'll be back and when she does you'll all be sorry!"

"Damn it! And I thought it worked too." Transforming into her Super Saiyan form, Dark Cai delivered a throat chop at the back of Cai's neck, which knocked her out.

"... Now what!?" Kaila stressed, not happy about seeing her sister swapped and knocked unconscious. Meanwhile Sabini was busy untying Astral who was inside Cai's body now.

"Astral, do you want to go back in Ginyu's body? We can still keep your mother tied up and in her own body, but she would be less dangerous in Ginyu's." Dark Cai went to her, taking off the mask on Cai's, now Astral's, body and tossing it into a corner of the room.

''What's done is done, we can't keep swapping round, it just adds risk.'' Kaila put her hands on her hips, this was a tricky spot. Astral. meanwhile, looked very shy to say the least.

"I am gonna keep the device in the house, just to be safe and incase we need it. Maybe it does have some uses after all, but I am breaking it once everyone is in their own body again." Dark Cai stated, thinking about where to hide the device.

But then something unexpected happened, Danny finally woke up. "Huh? Wha?" He looked around, then saw both Cai and Dark Cai along with the others. "C-CAI?! Where am I? What's going on? WHY IS THERE TWO OF YOU?!"

''You're awake!'' Kaila spun around. Meanwhile, Cai's body seemed very timid in posture as Astral was too shy to respond.

"I only remember just teaching your class a moment ago, and now I have no- wait..." The woman looked around more, seeing pictures of Cai along with some other stuff. "Cai? Are we in your home? Did the star student actually abduct me?"

"Okay, calm down Danny. Everything is fine now, you're safe and-" Dark Cai got interrupted.

"Who's Danny?" The woman responded.

"HUH?!" The faked Cai shouted in shock.

''Oh! I know what's happening here...'' Idris approached Danny, getting very far into his personal space. She began inspecting him, lifting his arms, poking his neck. ''You got possessed by a wizard. Likely for a long time, also we think you have a past personal that's been forgotten because you're in a different body, but forgot and so now you think you're and have always been a teacher, sound cool?'' Idris said at a thousand miles per hour, causing Kaila to facepalm.

''You think it might have been better to ease him to that point?'' Kaila whined, seeing how Danny would take this load of information.

"Uh..." The woman got up, backing away. "Wizards that possesses people, are you joking? I know that can't be real, and that other girl must be Cai's twin sister. I am Susana, and I have been a math teacher at my local school for 2 years! What kind of trick are you even trying to pull on me? And Cai, I can easily write you up, as well as you Idris." This Susana persona in this woman's body didn't believe in the supernatural, only the facts. Having both Cai and Idris in her class, she knew some of their their history beforehand.

Idris hands spat out a green glowing aura, one she condensed and shot into Susana's brain. She was gaining an insight as to what exactly happened, something Susana could also see at the same time. ''Hmm, no. See, this wasn't always your body, some kind of fight happened...'' There were brief flashbacks of Danny's blue armor in a large scale battle. ''Then you lost... ended up here for about two years.... living life as a teacher... forgetting your past...'' Then flashbacks played of Danny's life here as Susana. Teaching classes, doing fun things with friends, even dates, a whole other life that was apart of him now.

Then Kaila interjected. ''You say you've been a teacher for two years, can you tell us about before that? Where you grew up, you parents names.''

"GAH!" Susana pushed Idris away and to the ground, thinking as though she attacked her and tried to hurt her. Susana then back away, now against a wall trying to process what Idris showed her. "My... my parents... It's... It's so hard to THINK!" She then held her head in pain, so much pain.

"Idris, what spell was that? Was there any negative side effects to it? He's clearly in some pain." Dark Cai went out of Super Saiyan and is now next to Idris, helping her up.

''No, just memories... or lack there of...'' She brushed herself off and adjusted her witch hat.

''It's okay stay calm..'' Kaila stepped forward.

"CALM? HOW DO I STAY CALM KAILA?!" Susana stopped herself, she never met this woman and yet knows her name. "How... HOW DO I KNOW YOU?! GET AWAY FROM ME, ALL OF YOU!!!"

''Wheesho...'' Idris created a small cloud of glowing dust, before lightly blowing it towards Susana. ''It's a calming spell...'' She smiled as it gently breezed into her face.

"Ah..." Susana inhaled the cloud, complete calm about her situation before laying back on a wall, the sliding down it to sit on the floor. "I... I see my life. But... it isn't my life. But... it feels like my life... so many things I am recalling that I can't make sense of. It's supernatural, it feels like a dream..."

''Well... they're both your life, just... different...'' Idris added.

"What do you mean by that Idris? I... I don't even know how to make sense of any of this!" Susana even started to cry, not know who she is now or even how to make sense of any of this.

Kaila approached, kneeling down so they were eye level. ''There was a... tournament of sorts, one in which some of the strongest fighters from the multiverse participated. You... used to be Danny, but the tournament had risks, where bad things could happen. Problems we're still trying to deal with to this day...'' She looked back at Astral inside Cai's body, and Dark Cai. ''You see those two? Neither are actually Cai, and they're not twins.'' She sighed turning back to Susana. ''Body swaps, clones, possessions it all happened in this tournament, and you ended up banished, landing in this body with no memory of your last life.'' She then hesitated, wondering how this could make her feel better about herself. ''So we need you to remember, it's a good thing. But I'm not saying you should forget your life as Susana either... or that it's a bad thing.''

"I... I used to be someone else? Someone... with powers? What... What was I like before I taught PEMDAS or before I even shared a home with one of my best friends? Was... Was all of that just a lie?" Susana was troubled, trying to distinguish her true life but refused to think that her current life meant nothing, as much as she didn't want to believe any of this. But it was hard to not believe, because it was all very true to her.

Idris pondered for a second. ''Hmm... I'm not sure, as I never met the old you. Although different, you're likely the same at heart. Everyone changes as time goes on, so it's normal. You can keep your current persona, you just need to get your powers back. I'm Idris by the way.'' She smiled holding out her hand to shake.

"I... I know. You're my... student? Yeah, you're one of my students. But... I see what I can only guess is myself. I see myself... helping others and being a... good guy? Wait... WAIT I WAS A GUY?!" Shocked, Susana couldn't believe for one second that she used to be a guy but now is a woman. How did anything that happened before all this lead her to be a woman?

''It's coo,l don't panic. Watch.'' Idris smiled as she turned her head to face the others. ''Raise your hand if you've ever been in a different body.'' And within a second everyone in the room had their hand raised. ''You see? It's all good.'' She then pointed to Ginyu's unconscious body in the corner. ''That's the real Cai over there, see could be worse right?''

"I-I guess. But... all these memories, my old name, it's just so... confusing. What am I to do, as Danny or as Susana? I know I had some problems, sometimes with short term memory but that's was basically it. What... What should I do now?" Now seeing her old memories, knowing her old name, Susana felt as if she doesn't know her place in the world.

''Well I'd recommend just combing your powers with your current persona, no point staying in the past.'' Idris sighed, standing up. ''Do you think you could use your powers?''

"I... I don't even know how to use them, or what they can actually to. I'm still... recollecting myself, I guess." Susana stood back up, even shaking a bit.

"That's great and all but since we found you, we need your help with something." Dark Cai needed to tell Susana about Dark, since she is quite possibly the only one who knows how to truly stop him.

"M-M-ME? I-I wouldn't know how to help." The woman was now starting to get a bit nervous.

Sighing, Idris gathered another glowing dust ball in her hands. ''Wheesho.'' She directed it at Susana.

Inhaling the cloud, Susana coughed a bit. "I... I just need some time to process all of this. This is all so... fast and too much." Guiding herself while holding her head, she sat down on the couch.

"... Yeah, we can wait." However, Dark Cai wouldn't want to wait in a situation like this. Danny is the only one who knows how to possibly beat Dark for good, and she prefers to get it done quickly. Well, after helping Cai out of her mind controlled state.

'What a mess.' Kaila thought to herself, looking around the room.

Meanwhile the real Cai, now stuck in Ginyu's body sprung to life. Quickly realizing something was wrong. "UGH WHAT!? IS THIS...IS THIS GINYUS BODY!?" As she eyed her new form in disgust, while also seeing who else was in the room, she quickly focused on Dark Cai.

"Okay, seems like Astral is still herself, but did Cai's mind control break?" Dark Cai looked at Cai, who was now inhabiting Ginyu's body.

"UGH! You...You bitch!!" Cai scrambled towards Dark Cai in attack mode.

Easily, Dark Cai was now behind the real Cai. "Everyone, don't do anything yet. Alright, time for a test." Dark Cai hovered in the air, looking down. Do you love Towa, even though she's a witch bitch?"

Cai growled. "How dare you! She'll be back and when she does you'll all be sorry!"

"Damn it! And I thought it worked too." Transforming into her Super Saiyan form, Dark Cai delivered a throat chop at the back of Cai's neck, which knocked her out.

"... Now what!?" Kaila stressed, not happy about seeing her sister swapped and knocked unconscious. Meanwhile Sabini was busy untying Astral who was inside Cai's body now.

"Astral, do you want to go back in Ginyu's body? We can still keep your mother tied up and in her own body, but she would be less dangerous in Ginyu's." Dark Cai went to her, taking off the mask on Cai's, now Astral's, body and tossing it into a corner of the room.

''What's done is done, we can't keep swapping round, it just adds risk.'' Kaila put her hands on her hips, this was a tricky spot. Astral. meanwhile, looked very shy to say the least.

"I am gonna keep the device in the house, just to be safe and incase we need it. Maybe it does have some uses after all, but I am breaking it once everyone is in their own body again." Dark Cai stated, thinking about where to hide the device.

But then something unexpected happened, Danny finally woke up. "Huh? Wha?" He looked around, then saw both Cai and Dark Cai along with the others. "C-CAI?! Where am I? What's going on? WHY IS THERE TWO OF YOU?!"

''You're awake!'' Kaila spun around. Meanwhile, Cai's body seemed very timid in posture as Astral was too shy to respond.

"I only remember just teaching your class a moment ago, and now I have no- wait..." The woman looked around more, seeing pictures of Cai along with some other stuff. "Cai? Are we in your home? Did the star student actually abduct me?"

"Okay, calm down Danny. Everything is fine now, you're safe and-" Dark Cai got interrupted.

"Who's Danny?" The woman responded.

"HUH?!" The faked Cai shouted in shock.

''Oh! I know what's happening here...'' Idris approached Danny, getting very far into his personal space. She began inspecting him, lifting his arms, poking his neck. ''You got possessed by a wizard. Likely for a long time, also we think you have a past personal that's been forgotten because you're in a different body, but forgot and so now you think you're and have always been a teacher, sound cool?'' Idris said at a thousand miles per hour, causing Kaila to facepalm.

''You think it might have been better to ease him to that point?'' Kaila whined, seeing how Danny would take this load of information.

"Uh..." The woman got up, backing away. "Wizards that possesses people, are you joking? I know that can't be real, and that other girl must be Cai's twin sister. I am Susana, and I have been a math teacher at my local school for 2 years! What kind of trick are you even trying to pull on me? And Cai, I can easily write you up, as well as you Idris." This Susana persona in this woman's body didn't believe in the supernatural, only the facts. Having both Cai and Idris in her class, she knew some of their their history beforehand.

Idris hands spat out a green glowing aura, one she condensed and shot into Susana's brain. She was gaining an insight as to what exactly happened, something Susana could also see at the same time. ''Hmm, no. See, this wasn't always your body, some kind of fight happened...'' There were brief flashbacks of Danny's blue armor in a large scale battle. ''Then you lost... ended up here for about two years.... living life as a teacher... forgetting your past...'' Then flashbacks played of Danny's life here as Susana. Teaching classes, doing fun things with friends, even dates, a whole other life that was apart of him now.

Then Kaila interjected. ''You say you've been a teacher for two years, can you tell us about before that? Where you grew up, you parents names.''

"GAH!" Susana pushed Idris away and to the ground, thinking as though she attacked her and tried to hurt her. Susana then back away, now against a wall trying to process what Idris showed her. "My... my parents... It's... It's so hard to THINK!" She then held her head in pain, so much pain.

"Idris, what spell was that? Was there any negative side effects to it? He's clearly in some pain." Dark Cai went out of Super Saiyan and is now next to Idris, helping her up.

''No, just memories... or lack there of...'' She brushed herself off and adjusted her witch hat.

''It's okay stay calm..'' Kaila stepped forward.

"CALM? HOW DO I STAY CALM KAILA?!" Susana stopped herself, she never met this woman and yet knows her name. "How... HOW DO I KNOW YOU?! GET AWAY FROM ME, ALL OF YOU!!!"

''Wheesho...'' Idris created a small cloud of glowing dust, before lightly blowing it towards Susana. ''It's a calming spell...'' She smiled as it gently breezed into her face.

"Ah..." Susana inhaled the cloud, complete calm about her situation before laying back on a wall, the sliding down it to sit on the floor. "I... I see my life. But... it isn't my life. But... it feels like my life... so many things I am recalling that I can't make sense of. It's supernatural, it feels like a dream..."

''Well... they're both your life, just... different...'' Idris added.

"What do you mean by that Idris? I... I don't even know how to make sense of any of this!" Susana even started to cry, not know who she is now or even how to make sense of any of this.

Kaila approached, kneeling down so they were eye level. ''There was a... tournament of sorts, one in which some of the strongest fighters from the multiverse participated. You... used to be Danny, but the tournament had risks, where bad things could happen. Problems we're still trying to deal with to this day...'' She looked back at Astral inside Cai's body, and Dark Cai. ''You see those two? Neither are actually Cai, and they're not twins.'' She sighed turning back to Susana. ''Body swaps, clones, possessions it all happened in this tournament, and you ended up banished, landing in this body with no memory of your last life.'' She then hesitated, wondering how this could make her feel better about herself. ''So we need you to remember, it's a good thing. But I'm not saying you should forget your life as Susana either... or that it's a bad thing.''

"I... I used to be someone else? Someone... with powers? What... What was I like before I taught PEMDAS or before I even shared a home with one of my best friends? Was... Was all of that just a lie?" Susana was troubled, trying to distinguish her true life but refused to think that her current life meant nothing, as much as she didn't want to believe any of this. But it was hard to not believe, because it was all very true to her.

Idris pondered for a second. ''Hmm... I'm not sure, as I never met the old you. Although different, you're likely the same at heart. Everyone changes as time goes on, so it's normal. You can keep your current persona, you just need to get your powers back. I'm Idris by the way.'' She smiled holding out her hand to shake.

"I... I know. You're my... student? Yeah, you're one of my students. But... I see what I can only guess is myself. I see myself... helping others and being a... good guy? Wait... WAIT I WAS A GUY?!" Shocked, Susana couldn't believe for one second that she used to be a guy but now is a woman. How did anything that happened before all this lead her to be a woman?

''It's coo,l don't panic. Watch.'' Idris smiled as she turned her head to face the others. ''Raise your hand if you've ever been in a different body.'' And within a second everyone in the room had their hand raised. ''You see? It's all good.'' She then pointed to Ginyu's unconscious body in the corner. ''That's the real Cai over there, see could be worse right?''

"I-I guess. But... all these memories, my old name, it's just so... confusing. What am I to do, as Danny or as Susana? I know I had some problems, sometimes with short term memory but that's was basically it. What... What should I do now?" Now seeing her old memories, knowing her old name, Susana felt as if she doesn't know her place in the world.

''Well I'd recommend just combing your powers with your current persona, no point staying in the past.'' Idris sighed, standing up. ''Do you think you could use your powers?''

"I... I don't even know how to use them, or what they can actually to. I'm still... recollecting myself, I guess." Susana stood back up, even shaking a bit.

"That's great and all but since we found you, we need your help with something." Dark Cai needed to tell Susana about Dark, since she is quite possibly the only one who knows how to truly stop him.

"M-M-ME? I-I wouldn't know how to help." The woman was now starting to get a bit nervous.

Sighing, Idris gathered another glowing dust ball in her hands. ''Wheesho.'' She directed it at Susana.

Inhaling the cloud, Susana coughed a bit. "I... I just need some time to process all of this. This is all so... fast and too much." Guiding herself while holding her head, she sat down on the couch.

"... Yeah, we can wait." However, Dark Cai wouldn't want to wait in a situation like this. Danny is the only one who knows how to possibly beat Dark for good, and she prefers to get it done quickly. Well, after helping Cai out of her mind controlled state.

'What a mess.' Kaila thought to herself, looking around the room.
