We all clicked because we all wish we knew.
As for the "meaning of art," your poem didn't do much to actually embody it; It was both cliche and terribly narrow. After all, can only an artist make art? Is nature art? There is certainly no artist to congratulate on creating trees, or flowers, or sunsets. Of course, you didn't do a terrible job; it has a nice little ring to it, it sounds nice on paper to describe art that way.
Now, as for the poem itself; There were a few times ("That's why an artist will never look foul," especially) that the line doesn't add anything to the poem, and seems to glare with obviousness that it is only there to complete a rhyme. The rhyme seems forced in many places, like "While sometimes hiding his true motions." His true motions, as in, movements? It just doesn't seem to add anything; Fluff.
And "art is something from the heart" is the most wretchedly cliche statement to make. It wasn't terrible, but this is my opinion on the matter.

As for the first bit, I described that everybody could be an artist if they just had the courage to create art in some earlier pieces of mine, (as a matter of fact of the past week) so maybe you can also check those out cause they kinda add up to each other, but this piece is more about what art means to a person then about the person who creates it
Trust me, there where moments where I couldn't come up with anything, but those pieces are in there for a reason, I say an artist eyes can never look foul because an artist is a person who accepts others, so far all the artists I've met were the nicest people I've ever met and that's what you can see in their eyes, how nice they are and the drive to create art. 'While sometimes hiding his true motions', motions here mean not like movements but something like motives of somebody, there were many artists who created a piece of art without people ever knowing why they did create that piece of art.
I'm sorry that you think that way, but this is my opinion on the matter.
So what is your opinion on the meaning of art then?

I didn't mean "can only someone called an artist create art," I meant, is art only made by people? Is art only there when we consciously put effort into making it art? And I wasn't necessarily down-puttng your piece, I was just pointing out how it struck me, since you asked.
As for my "meaning of art," I couldn't possibly step past centuries of art-making to think that my few years of living have taught me what art means; After all, they were making art in the caveman days, before humanity was even sentient or aware of their own existence; So, it wasn't self-descriptive, at its core. Art isn't necessarily about self-expression, or even the self at all. What is it then? Well, that's a confusing question to answer; Even the greatest philosophers usually broke down when it came to art, eventually resorting to such famous quotes as "Talking about art is like dancing about architecture."
However, I wrote a prose poem once on what it feels like to be a person that does make art; It's called "Don't be an escapist in a Room of nothing," and for all intents and purposes, it is about art without being about art, because art isn't about art. It's about itself, but it describes creation in the way that it occurs to an artist, him or herself.
But unlike most artists of our generation, I don't fancy myself wise/experienced/genius enough to carry with me a neat, short description of what art is in my pocket to pull out at parties and recite with a smug smile to earn a little clap and a doggie treat for being a "good little artist." It's much more than something one can sum up in a few paragraphs.

Ah I see and I apologize for that than >.>
Yes I know, talking about art is something that is not taken lightly, that's why I wanted everybody to tell me what art means to them. Art always shows something about the artist who made it, so the poem is also affected by my personal views of it.
I see, I will make sure to check out that piece of yours since I'm quite interested
I agree even if you think about me like that. I write because I want to let people know my thoughts as well and see if people think alike, that's why I always ask in the description if the reader could please tell me what they think. I don't write to get attention, I write to learn more about the world. To be honest in real life I could never read a poem out loud to anyone, I'm too scared to do such a thing.

I feel like art is a way of Expressing yourself in many ways.. A way for people to see only what you can see and how you chose to see it... Anything can happen in a Picture, poem, ect. because It's your imagination.
Art is Creativity and Imagination. your mind at it's finest!

Taking interest in art (drawing, specifically) is the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and I think I wouldn't know anyone or be anywhere without it. I can't imagine myself being anything else but an artist when I grow up... or graduate, rather.
At the same time, it's also my greatest downfall since my life revolves so much around art. I've grown so attached to it, it's not just a hobby anymore. When I'm angry, sad or frustrated, in the middle of a project, I rip the canvas, stab the paper or crumple and tear it apart. When I'm happy, I can never express how colorful my life finally is, so one piece is usually never enough.
I guess, for me, that's what it means, but it's still pretty indescribable to me.

Yes, art is amazing, it has been my comfort for as long as I can remember
An artist work is never 'finished', the artist will always find something he wants to change, we grow to attached to out works because they are a reflection of us, a part of us you could say
For every time we discover something new, 10 other questions or mysteries will start to exist, we cannot know anything, before we learn that we know nothing

Art is the attempt to convey an idea using an alternative language — 'language' here being something quite broad, and inherently subjective.

Ah, the meaning of art (sorry for the slow reply) that's a tough one. I'd have to say that the meaning of art is, at its very nature, a story.
People might say that art is expression or a window into the soul, but essentially; every art piece is a story. It is a special tale, either from the artist themselves or from observations of what goes on around the artist, but it still retains its nature as a story.
This is more evident in written work, but can be seen even in visual media. For instance, a picture showing flowers will have a story behind it. The artist may say that it was just a practice piece, but why choose the flowers? Were they something close by? Or perhaps they were a prompt from a friend. Regardless of the nature of picture (practice or professional work) the fact remains that it has a story and the story might give you insight about the person's nature or his behaviour. Sometimes individual pieces are fragments of a story and by putting them together, we see the whole picture or get a snapshot of the meaning the artist intended to convey.
Therefore, to me, the meaning of art is: a story.

I think the poem is very well written. I can defiantly relate to it. To me art is a form of self-expression. It can portray many different emotions and messages to the viewer. I don't think many people realize that art is an artists way of putting their thoughts and emotions out.

Thank you and I must agree my good man, sometimes a single work can tell you more about the artist than a biography about that person, only through art you can find the true thoughts of an artist

Its fantastic!
Great job! Nice to say it was on the front page of popular ;D
I think its great! A few words I'd change, like from "land seas" to "lands, and seas" etc.,
but I'm not the artist here ;D Its your work! I think it would roll off the tongue a bit better, but ...I can't write poetry for crap! Ahahah!
