'Describe what you call art'To me art is something from the heart.
It's an embodiment of a vision,
It's a display of ambition.
An artist's work is never done,
Cause to the artist the work is only part of the fun.
An artist tries to show his emotions,
While sometimes hiding his true motions.
They say the eyes are the gate to the soul,
That's why an artist will never look foul.
They guide people through a world only they see,
A world filled with mountains, miracles, oceans and land seas.
So whenever somebody asks me: 'What is art?'
I do not only answer: "Something straight from the heart,
It's everything we know and that which we don't know.
It's hidden by the illusion of reality only certain people can see through."

This question is always difficult to answer (at least, for me). But then, I've never really been good at explaining my thought process.
I put this [link] together once during a discussion about this very concept. It's a kind of simplistic view of a basic concept. Nowhere near as in depth as it could be, but it did the job at the time.

right now it's the only thing that makes me feel realized, it makes me happy and proud of myself, also because I learnt it by myself

When I write I still do think a little (rhyming schemes and such or the message I want to add) but the rest is from the heart

Um, simply put its an expression of oneself representing emotions or ideals in a way to make others observing the piece to think or feel.

you're right, you're right, you're right. i love your poem! it's so true, cause being an artist is exactly that. seeing so many things other people cant and you just have to find a way to make them see. some of us by painting, some by writing some by making music and by so many other ways. the world of art is so amazing that i couldnt be more proud of being part of it

beautifully put! And I think the definition of art is an illustration of an idea.. And world that can only be seen from the imagination, put onto paper and brought into existence through a pen, pencil or digitally.. It's the way of bringing life to something that you could only see in dreams or bringing light to something that only lay in shadow.

Hmm, I don't think i can describe it more accurately than you lol xD but I think art is an outlet for creativity, expression, emotion, and passion! It is where one's imagination can run freely and can open up a whole new world; there are no rules because art is art^^

Art is representing life in a new way. Making people think, feel and see things differently. It's knowledge and power and everything that is and is not. It's murder and creation, motive and no reason. Pain, suffering, love and joy. It's everything yet nothing.
