The colours in this are incredible, the red of the scarf and green of his eyes, so vibrant. It reminds me of the Afgan girl from National Geographic. Very beutifull.

This image has been on my mind since I returned to dA, and I have been spending all those moments thinking of a comment that could possibly justify it. And it's impossible. But I will share these thoughts with you ...
There is a profound balance of strength and vulnerability in this portrait. His gaze balances on the uncertainty of youth; it captivates the viewer yet there is a sense that is he enveloped in his own narrative. The bokeh is sublime, and the colours - the deep red of the cloak, and the luscious greens of the forest - both compliment each other and contrast in a striking way.
I just think, simply, this is a beautiful portrait.

Oh wow. Oh wow oh wow.
First off, this is absolutely stunning, especially composition-wise, and when I saw the little preview I nearly fell over.
Secondy..ish... Something that stuck out a bit to me at first was that there's quite a bit of grey around his face, and I wished that the shadows on the cloth nearest his chin could be deeper/darker. But the more I look at it the less that sticks out to me, and I'd prefer to see a purer, less-processed piece anyway.
The bokeh, the way his right shoulder blurs softly, the details in the fabric and the way its vibrant color contrasts against the background (I could be wrong, but I don't recall seeing much red dominate in your work--it's used very well here) all contribute to the beauty of this piece. So so wonderful. :] And I hope you don't mind my critiquing. ^_^;;

I'm kind of confused about the grayness you mentioned around his face. I'm not really seeing it.

His stare is quite blank as if lost in a world of nothingness. Your subject makes think of a zombie or a lost soul. His movements seem robotic if not being controlled by another being. It almost feels as if his hand has a mind of his own.
