If you’ll remember, and you will because I’ll refresh your memory right now, I flew all the way to the mystic oriental lands of Arkansas to take my nephews to see the Transformers live action movie…ensuring a new generation of nerds. The younger brother got the robo bug bad, and I was informed he was planning on having a Transformer themed birthday.
Does a man proud, he does.

In my quest to be the bestest uncle ever, I asked my nephew what his favorite Transformer was. I was planning on illustrating his fave movie character in 2D glory…but my heart sank when he stated “Draw me Megatron!”
Metal hotdogs-looking movie Megatron?!

Luckily—for both of us—he was referring to that “ninety dollar gun guy” I had shown him on the Internet when I was there. There’s no way in hades my nephew will ever get the masterpiece Megatron toy worth a Benjamin, so he did the next best thing and watched the gun guy in animated action with G1 Transformer episodes on YouTube. He told me his favorite characters were Megatron and Astrotrain, so I did them up.

Let me take this time to express an unbiased critique in saying I’m a fan of my own work. I think I’ve really nailed the styles down…and my pseudo perspectives are becoming more believable with each picture I practice on. Again, three inch comic panels do little to flatter my technical skills.
