Description Standing on a rooftop overlooking the city of Paris, Javert reflects
on what makes a man "good" and whether or not he falls into that category. As
the barricade falls, the revolutionaries aren't the only ones who need
reminding that even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise. An
alternate ending for Javert.

Beautifuly written. Lovely how it echoed Russell Crowe's interpretation of how he played Javert - that the irreconcilable moment of Javert's moral confusion was his guilt over his part in the deaths at the barricade (rather than simply his confusion in regard to the Valjean 'storyline'). Thanks!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, although Valjean was a major character in his life, I think it makes more sense to have him morally upset over their deaths AND Valjean to bring him to the point of wanting to commit suicide.
