Description I am running Avery-Drexel. I am getting smooth frame rates (I set the game to 30fps) with NO lag at all!

I only have 4GB of RAM and a 2GHz dual-core processor.

I also edited a file that can be used to change the draw distance. I've set mine to 50,000 metres. Distant hills can be seen!

SpeedTrees are also on this route and they're not affecting performance at all.

My computer is truly amazing; it shocks even me.

How exactly did you do this? I got a new computer recently and I wanna truly test it.

How did I get the crazy draw distance using TS2010? I edited a file called globalmodule.txt which can be found in (installation directory)/UserData/settings.

I recommend putting the value back to a maximum of 5000 after you've tweaked the settings and ran some tests, otherwise there will be some ground clipping issues.

If you really want to test your computer, why not buy GTA V or T:ANE?

Lol, I already have GTA V, just curious on how well my PC would run Trainz.

Though, thanks! I'll test it out.

It's very well done and the locos used are well-made as well.

And its long, I love long routes. You can do more on long routes than you can on short ones.Β

Long routes are great when there's something to do to break up the monotony, such as shunting (switching).

Your computer may amaze you but this picture and the scenery amazes me the most.

TUME certainly has done a marvellous job of Avery-Drexel, and I'm glad I've got the hardware to handle it. It's not a powerful computer but the hardware is probably just a good combination.

Thanks for popping in!

Yeah, I've heard of lots of problems with this and ECML but I've experienced none of it.

I'm curious to see how the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway goes once i've finished downloading all its dependencies.

is the drexel route on DLS? because I can't seen to get it to download

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CaptainKman In reply to stormsirens2 [2014-02-14 00:21:52 +0000 UTC]

It's on the DLS for TS12 users. It's just the TS2010 built-in one. I'm using it in TS2010 where it's built-in.

Made by TUME.

stormsirens2 In reply to CaptainKman [2014-02-14 02:08:51 +0000 UTC]

I look on the dls there is no route under tume's name. I'm still wondering if I broke my trainz account.

Make sure you can log onto the Forums. www.auran.com/trainz

If you can, go to Launcher --> Settings and enter your UN and PW there. Then open Content Manager and go to Main Menu --> Settings. Enter your UN and PW in there as well. Then everything should be fine.

It's also a good idea to run Trainz as Administrator always, and also move the game out of Program Files if you can. Those last two are only recommendations.

If you've got Skype add me there and I'll see if I can help. And if you're already there then sorry, people don't use the same name everywhere and it's hard to keep up, especially with 65 contacts.

my skype is david.stormsirens2, and I downloaded a session for the Drexel route there were 2 unknowns 1 by auran and tume, I think that would tell me that the route isn't on the dls (anymore), as well as I tried to open the session and it said map corrupted or missing

Is that TS12? I tried to put my best settings, kinda lags u know.

I have identical specs as you: 4GB ram, 3.30 Ghz & nVidia GeForce 8400 GS

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CaptainKman In reply to Mikey186 [2014-02-14 00:23:33 +0000 UTC]

TS2010, but the route is on the dLS for TS12 users like most other TS2010 built-ins.

Wow, my processor is crap compared to yours yet this route runs well. I'm using an ATI Radeon graphics card as well, compared to your nVidia. I've found ATI cards better than nVidia for Trainz, but I'm sure there's other factors as well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mikey186 In reply to CaptainKman [2014-02-14 00:29:54 +0000 UTC]

and you have the route that is for TS12 and u installed it on TS2010.

Think u can help me with the settings? and where is the file? contact me via/skype.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CaptainKman In reply to Mikey186 [2014-02-14 00:46:12 +0000 UTC]

No, it's built-in to TS2010, but is on the DLS for TS12 users as N3V put TS2010's built-in content there for TS12 users.

Thank you. It's just a 4-year-old laptop with only one upgrade (RAM upgraded to 4GB from 2), and it does very very well with handling Trainz.
