Wow-that is beautiful artwork and such a cute little girl--I have a sibling who is handicapped, physically and mentally, and she's the nicest person I know.

Wow, she looks exactly like my little cousin (who also has downs). I love it, instant fav.

Even if this is just a sketch in your opinion, you really did a great job in catching that very special sunny kindliness people with a down syndrom often have. So, you could have done better maybe, but: it is something special too.

great work! doesn't look rushed at all except for the shading her dress. other than that - its awesome. the shading in the hair and her smile is really good. such a cute drawing and realistic at the same time.

aww, what a sweetie. What a warm illustration. You may feel you haven't reached ytour best technically, but you should definately be proud by the character and warmth you're created here.

I know that an artist is his/her own worst critic, but in this case I think you are the worst critic anyone has ever met. Your work is pure and absolutely brilliant, I can't see why anyone would say this is rushed. If I had to do something that looked like that it would definitely take me more than three hours. Probably something along the lines of three months. But really, you did an excellent job on this one. Keep up the absolutely amazing work.

I'm chalking it up to experience. I'm desperately behind on my assignments for uni. I'll know in future just to say no way!

Ahh, those assignments! I'd still charge her, or at least send a note that says, "In lieu of thanks, I'm willing to accept x amount of pounds for that drawing."

Look, you'll weep if I tell you how little she's paying me. Because she's a work colleague and a boss, I felt that I couldn't charge her the normal rate of £150 or more per picture, so I told her to buy me a set of pencils. I wanted to avoid being insulted and had used the excuse that I couldn't charge the full rate as I'd be working on them at work, it would be moonlighting. She didn't like the idea of getting me a good set of pencils and said, 'I know, I'll give you twenty pounds.' Then she walked away thinking she was giving me a fortune.
I have only got myself to blame.

Twenty pounds! God! People have no idea what time and talent is worth. Did you get the twenty pounds?

No, I didn't get the twenty pounds. At least if she was expected to buy me pencils, she would have had to go to some effort to find them ... but this way, she has totally devalued my work.
I shouldn't winge because it's a bit two-faced of me. I must be honest when I see her and tell her how I feel ... perhaps I haven't given her chance to thank me. :innocence:

Give her the chance, yes. It does help. Also ask for your money, pittance though it is. 20 pounds...jeeze.
