Sandstorm bristled. "Who are you?""You should know who I am," the cat hissed. "ThunderClan destroyed my life!"
Sandstorm frowned. "What's your name?"
The Dark Forest cat stepped out of the shadows. "My name's Mapleshade!" With a hiss, she sprang. She landed on Sandstorm and pushed her muzzle into the earth.
"I'm going to make you pay for every blessing StarClan gave you!" Mapleshade growled in Sandstorm's ear. "And every blessing they stole from me!"
"You have everything I wanted, Sandstorm! A mate that loved me, kits that I could watch grow up and have kits of my own, the respect of my Clanmates! I should have had that!"

What the heck? Why should Sandstorm die over pretty romantic quarrels? Not only are Cinderpelt and Spottedleaf Medicine cat, just their feelings weren't publicly known but they were no more crushs, Firestar wasn't even mates with them.

JUST THOUGHT I'D BOUNCE IN TO SAY it's not really Sandstorm's fault... at all. Not even Firestar new about Cinderpelt's feelings towards him and Sandstorm had absolutely no clue about Spottedleaf until after Spottedleaf was dead. "Breaking Spottedleaf and Cinderpelt's heart" was completely unintentional on her part.
If you're basing 'Sand being a bitch' on her actions as an apprentice, then, well, kids can be shitty, but they grow out of it. I'm pretty sure Sandstorm has as well. (feel free to send me quotes from the books of adult Sandstorm being a bitch, I haven't completely read the books in a while and I don't want to be uneducated for this!)

Sure, Mapleshade MAY have broken the warrior code when she fell in love with Appledusk at the start but she loved him, y'know? I felt bad for her after Thunderclan cast her out as a traitor. Her story really went too far. Starclan didn't give her any blessings, the only tom she ever thought of all the time and loved so much cheated her with the bitch Reedshine, her own kits dying in front of her, and became a bloodthirsty she-cat stuck in Dark Forest trying to finish her vengeance. Scourge and Mapleshade will always be my favorite warrior cat characters and villians. There is no other cat I like other than them.

I mean Appledusk didn't even really cheat on her-
"The best thing for either Appledusk and Mapleshade to do, in order to protect their kits, was to move on, so no one could suspect them. Even Mapleshade did something similar when she lied that Birchface was the father of her kits, yet was still obsessive over Appledusk. He took it a step further and actually properly tried to move on by starting a new family, which is something Mapleshade should have really been doing. If she’d done that, the kits would've probably never have been caught as half-clan. Ravenwing would have still been given the omen, however, if Mapleshade had never let her kits swim in the river while she talked lovingly to Appledusk, the medicine cat would have never made the connection.
Is Mapleshade and Appledusk’s relationship even close enough for it to count as “cheating”? They see each other very infrequently, especially when around the time of the book itself. As it was noted after Birchface's death, patrols were doubled, preventing Mapleshade and Appledusk from sneaking out to see each other. To the point, Mapleshade had to risk seeing Appledusk at the Gathering.
It just got worse when Mapleshade had the kits, with 2 moons of pregnancy and 2 moons after the birth, that's a total of 4 months/moons. And this is when Appledusk sees the kits for the first time at the River, which is also presumably the first time he's seen Mapleshade in 4 months. 4 months. And once again, Appledusk is forced to tell them to stay away or it's could give away the secret and endanger the kits.
Appledusk has to stay absent from his kits' lives to keep them safe while Mapleshade is forced to lie to them their 'father' is dead. Neither can Mapleshade or Appledusk see each other at all. Their “relationship” is down to: Used to only see each other a handful of times a year, later was forced to avoid each other completely and to painstakingly keep it secret from everyone they know. This isn't any kind of relationship or family. How can anyone really stay “loyal” to a partner in that situation?
That's why it's so much better for them to move onto a legal mate, Mapleshade to find a step-father for her kits. While Appledusk can actually be a present father to a litter of kits. They'd also have the benefit of having a mate who's always there for them, rather than a basically non-existent one. They can also relax slightly from such an extremely stressful situation, as they can finally have a public relationship. And not to be careful of every word they say to their own Clanmates in an effort not to give away their forbidden romance.
When Reedshine it confirms is pregnant, is describes it like this barely "swollen beneath her pelt.", meaning she's only in the early stages. And this was in chapter nine when Mapleshade had already been in exile for several days, maybe even a week or two. And since cat pregnancies last 2 months or roughly 8 weeks, 1 week can make a big difference. So Appledusk could have easily got Reedshine pregnant after his first litter died and Mapleshade exiled.
Also, we don't even know if Appledusk had officially asked Reedshine to be his mate while his 1st litter was alive. As he may have considered her a friend at the time or just seeing if he was interested, and only chose to become mates with Reedshine after Mapleshade got exiled.
Appledusk had already told Mapleshade to stay away twice and could have been easing his way into a new relationship. However, Mapleshade and their kits' exile threw a wrench into that, before the rest of Appledusk's plan had the chance to happen. So we can't say that if Appledusk would have told Mapleshade or not, he was moving on. If he had more time and allowed it to sink in, maybe it wouldn't have been a total shock to Mapleshade."

It was her own fault her kits died. She must've been incredibly stupid if she thought that making them cross the river during a rainstorm was a good idea. And how is Reedshine a bitch? She didn't even know Appledusk had an affair with Mapleshade. If anything, you should be blaming Appledusk, not Reedshine. Even then, Appledusk didn't deserve to die, nor did Ravenwing or Frecklewish.

Of course, it's Ravenwing's business. They both from Thunderclan, a large family group. Mapleshade is a traitor and a danger as long as she remained unexposed. She could: leak information to Appledusk, constantly trespass on Riverclan territory, etc. all things that could worsen the war between Riverclan and Thunderclan. Ravenwing was choosing to protect the majority which includes elders, apprentices and other Queens/kits, over the singal individual. Why should he become a traitor/liar himself just protect someone else for their own crimes? As for the kits, he said nothing about exiling them, he didn't even support. He was neutral during the entire, only focusing on getting the truth out as it's his duty as Medicine cat to reveal any omens he receives. It's the Judge's/Leader's (Oakstar) reasonability to be fair with their verdicts, not the accuser.
