Gus is a female Western Screech Owl who is an educational ambassador for the Orange County Bird of Prey Center, her nest was destroyed by tree trimmers when she was baby making her dependent on humans for the rest of her life due to injuries and a lack of foster nests that season. I bet so! I imagine in the animal kingdom that any creature that is out of it's natural habitat is more aggressive, especially around human beings and other species of animals or birds.

She doesn't really think of herself as being out of her comfort zone as she is an imprint, so she thinks she's a human anyway. She's just naturally a very dominant and territorial bird.
