Basically, what happened this time around was, after training Travis up to level 7 or so, I decided to take on Gary on Route 22. Mostly because I needed money to buy more Pokeballs; Travis took (I think) 3 balls to catch, and I had only bought 5 in the first place. Naturally, I used Zippy (who was also level 7) against Spearow and took that out easily. Zippy leveled up and learned Thunder Wave. I thought I would use Travis against Eevee, but he barely did any damage, and it did a pretty decent chunk. So I switched in to Zippy, used Thunder Wave, and then just spammed Thundershock. It was actually a pretty easy fight

I figure that if you're 10, and have never been in a fight before, and are a pretty soft-hearted sort of kid, that your first real battle against another trainer would be pretty scary.

You're so sweet! I do like drawing Pikachu. There are so many ways you can draw it and still have it look like a Pikachu! I've drawn one using a hamster-like body before, and it was very cute. Rather reminiscent of the Pikachu sprites from Red and Blue.
I imagine that a bunny-Pikachu would be pretty cute, too. Long and thin when stretched out, but normally a little ball of 'chu?

Level up Travis quite a bit, unless you plan on going into another place and getting a Rattata, is my advice.

Lol, yeah. I'm definitely not going to fight Brock until Travis learns Double Kick. But, thankfully, I do have a backup for if things go south with Travis...although I don't see that happening!
