The Magical Land examines the setting of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic and relates it to the real world, expanding on the history and technology of the Industrial Revolution. In particular, based on published comments by and interviews of the show's creator and staff, it focuses on the late nineteenth century, during the heyday of the steam locomotive and before electricity became common.
