Description
This is Skye who is Bunny's dam. She's the grand matriarch and foundation of my breeding lines. I definitely see her physical imprint as well as behaviours passed down in her children and grandchildren. This photo was taken when she was about 2 yrs old and being shown as a special. She's 10.5 yrs. now. She is also a blue & white like Bunny and Bryson.Related content

Lochinbrae Wild Karde's dam, Darkwind Newz Sensation (aka Shatter or Shatterstar) was originally owned by my cousin (Lochinbrae Border Collies). My cousin and Chris bred quite a few litters together. I also have a friend with a girl by Mystic Night.

I've seen the other picture you've mentioned, how do you know they're Blue and White?
Well, I think I'm too used to german shepherds, because when you say blue, there like, REALLY BLUE.
Either way, she has the most STUNNING pigment I have seen, as far as I see in border collies, I look for those exact markings.
The white stripe going from the white on the muzzle, making a somewhat dorsal and going to to the chest. :3
She's really pretty.

The blues have a very distinct color, although it can range in color from light slate gray to almost black. It is most apparent when they are puppies but you can definitely tell the difference standing a black & white dog next to a blue & white dog. In animal genetics, blue is generally referred to the dilute of the black gene when it is expressed. Blue is a recessive gene so both parents must carry it in order to produce pups that color. I don't think I've ever heard of blue GSD's before - interesting. I'll have to look that one up.

White/Liver/Blue are a disqualification. Though they can be registered and shown in Obediance.
Now, What I don't think they show on that website is the "Brindle". There used to be, back in like, the 1940's, the "Brindle" gene, though no one has see it since.

Thanks for the link! The blue explanation on there is just like the blue in BC's. No, they don't show any brindles on there. That would be interesting to see on a GSD. Did you know that there are some BC's with brindle coats? They seem to be very uncommon and I've only seen some photos of them.
