My first ship xD I have gone far and wide, through different fandoms, unique times and spaces, but Old Mill is always home, and this pairing will always give me joy.

[Twenty Years]

We can't take a walk home without Mimi going on about her latest success with the Voice Dom. In the one hour we spent in the city shopping, she had made friends with two wandering "stray" cats, and returned no fewer than three detached Snyakutz arms.

Zeph is always quiet around this point, and it won't take long before the two get into a screaming match. He's just younger by three years, but I know it's from the pressure his father and older sister have put on his shoulders. After all, he'd have to be a good Tamer too, when the time is right.

When the quarrel finally happens, Zick breaks out into laughter. And we three stare as he tries to catch his breath.

"Dad, seriously, stop Mimi from being a know-it-all!" whines Zeph.

Mimi counters, "It's not my fault Zeph's a late bloomer!"

"No, you just like rubbing it in my face!"

"Nuh-uh, I'm just better than you!"

I step between them before they start hitting each other. Let's not mention that they got it from my genes; I know I'm a hothead, but I try to be a good example for the kids.

Zick turns to me, bearing the most youthful smile I've ever witnessed in his pale face since. "They're just like us," he says, wiping a tear from his eyes as he regained self-control. "Just like before."

I'm brought back two decades into the past where, yes, I've had to push my way into his life, for better or for worse, against his (and Timothy's, and Zob's, and Greta's) judgement. Where, yes, I probably should've minded my own business and stayed out of harm's way. Where, yes, I didn't need to add another burden to their heavy load. Yes, I was the obnoxious neighbor until I could prove my mettle. I completely understand how Zeph feels, and I can relate with Mimi because training in the Armoury with those amazing people was...the second best thing ever. These kids, this life, it's all worth it, and for a moment, I sigh contentedly at how far we've come: from misfit children to this...this...perfect state.

"Let's go home, guys," Zick proposes, and I snap out of my reverie. "We still need to feed a certain Bombo some shoes."

Zeph and Mimi race ahead down the street eagerly. Zick makes to follow them, but I grab his sleeve. He looks confused, only for a second, then he encloses my hand in his before tugging me along.

I don't believe I've ever uploaded anything about my second-gen OC's, but they've been around in my drafts. Zephyres and Emitha are Tamers-in-training. Mimi's a bit of a brag, and after enjoying the spotlight as the only child for three years, she had to improve herself continually to remain the best in her parents' eyes. Zeph feels like he's standing in the shadows of great people, but he has raw talent that will, in the future, earn him respect.

There was a plan for this future story about Zick and Elena, but I don't think I can finish it anymore. It's been so long ago. So here's this instead.

NOW, onto (less) serious matters. This is a picture (not a scan) of a sketch, then I added color and effects with Photoshop. I really get the urge to draw only when I don't have my tablet. Let me just ask: is this "style" okay? I've been postponing learning the Pen Tool; maybe it's time. It's temporary, though. Someday, I'll do my old style with the outrageous colors and highlights again. xD

I think I'm getting better at the male body shape in general. Probably. Hopefully.
