Description Why I'm glad to not be living with my housemates anymore, #46.

It makes for an interesting study of color, though.

Hey I can do you one of those with pasta if you want to hang on two ticks??? Found this afternoon in the back of the fridge. Euwwwww. Needless to say I threw out the container. Think it's gonna be easier to buy new tupperware than get that bowl clean again.......

Good photo, aren't flatmates fun???

Are you going to go trash-picking for a photo op?

::laughs:: Isn't it great, though? Only wish I could've gotten a better focus. Dang combination of a Consumer-Reports-best-buy camera and a partially inept photographer. Not a good mix.

it reminds me a bit of the work of andres serrano... in the late 80's, early 90's he made a number of 'abstract' images that were beautiful and rich... and then you'd read the title... things like 'blood, milk and urine II'... or 'blood and semen IV'... and in that moment your head would spin... here is this gorgeous image... which has this profane/dirty origin...

one of my favorites is from blood, milk and urine series... it has these lovely, elegant swirling lines of red and yellow on a white background... like some minimal, lyrical pollock painting... really beautiful... i'd give you a link... but, after looking for the last 45 minutes, i can't find it...

oh... and before you go looking at his images... if you go look... be warned his work can be extreme and abrasive... here's a good link to start with ... it is just a biography and has no images...

Having Googled Andres Serrano, and seeing some of his stuff... it primarily falls into the category of "concepts that would be interesting to experiment with, someday, after I figure out what I'm doing." I kind of wish I'd had better light for these noodles, but it was a spontaneous unprepared photograph.

so, make some noodles and let them set out for a couple days... i think the idea really has merit... you can get some great color... and good abstraction... and you can work with the light problem...

seriously... i'd love to see something like that out of you... it is a very good concept...

Next time we have spaghetti, I'll put the leftovers out in the sun.

Or fridge.

I need to read up on the best way to start a colorful bacterial colony. It probably involves spit.
