Aww, thanks so much <3 Well I'm really glad you decided to feature it -- this guy is kind of special to me, he's sorta based on my best friend, and I'm glad someone likes him! Some of the other reactions I've gotten are more like "Ehh, not my type" or "Not fond of it" ...I feel like these people are completely missing the point I didn't pixel this to look 'sexy' (in a conventional sense at least), I do it because I want to do something different and I feel like there's something at least interesting about diversity -- too many dolls are just the same old 20-something looking pencil thin gals. Also, I think he's cute anyway so boo to them :3 Thanks again, you're awesome and I loved your journal!

That's pretty much the whole point in my featuring bigger dolls. Cause there are way too many skinny little perfect dolls/pixels out there. It's the imperfections that make us special and beautiful.

Man, Meteos is one of my favourite puzzle games, and easily one of my top two DS puzzle games (either this or Picross would be top).

But yeah, even aside from that reference, I love this.

I think I actually do like everything about it. I love the brickwork on the wall; I love the graffiti; I love the close-up and the regular image of him.

In my opinion this is one of the strongest pieces you've done, and well worth the two months you spent on it.

Thanks! I really wanted to make a strong piece from a pixel art standpoint. I feel like lot of my stuff isn't very detailed in regards to shading and anatomy and I want to start changing that a little. I'm really glad you think it's one of my strongest pieces, though I'm still not as happy with the colors as I could be.

I'm looking at it again and am wondering if I should saturate the yellow a little more. It looks a little too faded to me. Thoughts?

This is the bit where I admit I'm rubbish at telling the difference between similar colours, like dark blue and black, or yellow and white. Or certain shades of the same colour.

Maybe it's just because I don't have the original there for comparison, but I don't see anything different. Though seeing how much I liked it originally, I guess you could see that as a good thing.

Yeah. I tend to freak out over the littlest of changes. I guess I don't know sometimes when I'm unhappy about something and don't know why it gets to me. I'm really glad you liked it though, it took me so long -.- uggh

Hahaha! No no no no no, I will not take commissions from friends! That's just ridiculous. GAH. If you must wear me down about that you can talk to me on MSN. If I took commissions it would be for something minuscule like 10 bucks I still say we should totally do an art trade.

Haha well I spent ages drawing a ton of pretty people but got depressed when I faced the reality that in general most people just aren't that attractive. So I got over it and learned to find a lot of different body types and looks beautiful in their own right It's definitely an 'acquired taste' though. I think art can still show beauty and elegance even if it's not what people think of as 'typical' beauty. Maybe more of a beauty in strength, or a beauty in perseverance or another personality trait the art conveys (though I'm not saying this particular piece really does this, it is just a logo ) Thanks for the comment on the quality of the image though, I'm really happy about that!
