HOW DO YOU GUYS POST A STATUS?

...ever since this phenomenon started on DeviantArt, I've been looking at my homepage for the Status thingie, but I have not found anything! I don't really intend to post one--frankly I think they're somewhat annoying (isn't this what the Journal page is for?) but I did kind of want to post a smart-ass Status indicating my dislike for Status posts, only I don't know how it's even done!

I stumbled upon it by accident, go to your notifications and then at the top of the page it says "WATCH" click on that and there will be a box at the top of the page where you can post that thing.

must be different pages for different folks...or separate realities
