For the record, I hate you! I've been dreading commenting on this one ever since I first saw it Man you make life difficult with submissions like this, but it better not be the last either!
Ok, joking aside.... I am genuinely impressed at the take you have taken on light. In a way its very literal and unoriginal, you have just displayed raw light. But that of course is genius in itself as its not an easy subject to illustrate! Displaying just raw light by showing refraction and reflection, and making it look good to boot! Sheesh, you sure to set the bar high.
Ok thats the concept.... now onto the execution. I am honestly amazed as to how you thought of the entire process. The prism, the water, the card. This is definitely one of the best and creatively planned and executed shots that I have seen here on dA. Its one thing to have a vision and another to make it a reality, and that my friend is what you have done.
If there is anything that I can fault about this shot at all, it is that while it had nice vibrant colors and the quality is unblemished, it's a little too busy and therefore distracting. Cant really find anything to focus the eye on... and while for some that might be a good thing it doesnt work for me personally. I feel wrong even faulting you for that, because I dont see how it would have been possible to make this look any better.
Thank you for not only entering [the_challenge] but for putting in such thought and effort. We will post the results once we are done commenting on all entries. I do hope that these comments are helpful and that you will participate again in the future.

Yeah, I heard that.
Actually I seldom drink, but I never drink american beers when I do.
Usually I drink good wines (in recent years either local New Mexico or aussie wines) with dinner or socially, most of the time.
When I want a good beer on a hot summer day, I will drink either a good euro stout or Mexican Beer.
I don't drink often, but when I do, I am not going to waste my time or money drinking swill or donkey
piss - which is what most american beers taste like.
Oh, there are a few good ones, Samuel Adams makes a passable stout, for instance, but for the most part they don't compare to any halfway decent ale or dark stout from anywhere in europe really.
But there is a local microbrewery in the small town I live close to here that makes some pretty good dark, nut, stouts
I like OK, although they are pretty weak compared to european stouts due to the laws here. But flavor wise, they are decent actually.
I like to buy and support products and services locally wherever I can as it is so rural and remote where I live, with very few people, it's hard for locals to earn a living,... so every little bit helps.
Peace.

There is a room at Swarovski's Crystalwelten that is supposed to simulate being inside a crystal... this photo reminds me of that room. (if you ever get a chance to go... do it! )

This truly brings the light to a point where it can only be magic and nothing else, despite the scientifical aspect you wanted to bring here.
The colors, the shapes, the play on reflections, even the angle, everything looks so unreal, or at least like some kind of fantaisy artefact used in story tales.
It is almost like the end of a world coming from the sky (still in story tales, in my vision) for I can't be pragmatic enough to see mirrors, prisms, or radiations of different wave lengths...
Anyway, I like what you've done here.
I wish you good luck for the contest, I might try to get myself into it too !

hahaha, well thankyou Ben. "original" is one word that i really am appreiciative when aimed at me. its pretty damn hard to come up with something that no-one else has touched on. so if i come close to it once in a blue moon then thats enough for me. thankyou once again mate, really nice.

I have read how you created this image, but I still cannot understand how you created it. It reminds me of the shiny stickers I used to collect as a kid. What a terrible comment, but anyway, very impressive. I am beginning a love hate relationship with your work......I hate that you have developed such skills, but I love what I see. dAmn.
