Description It feels like I've been working on this for so long!
I came up with the concepts mid-May and I've been working on the layout and composition on and off since then. It was only after exams finished that I had the time to start painting it!

This was a difficult one, mainly because of the weird lighting and some tricky elements (such as water, I have honestly no idea how to draw water; this was a result of trial and error alone... I will have to learn someday) and the fact the composition was entirely my own so it was difficult to find appropriate references. Another reason it took so long was that I used a combination of programs - started off on SAI, trial ran out, lost 2 hours of work, carried on in Photoshop 7.0, bought CS6, finished it off in CS6!
Phew.

Anyway I have the full version of CS6 now so that's something I don't have to worry about any more. I love it so far.

So I am really glad to have this finished and I hope you all like it.
I'm still not fully content with my style, especially with backgrounds, but as always I'll keep working on it. There were some themes I wanted to explore here, mainly the nature/civilisation contrast.

I'd appreciate critique either officially or just in the comments!

This is realy good! The shadows might not match up on the whole image (if the light source is the sunset then the tiger has to be dark.) but the composition is very good and I especially like the way the foreground has many orange tones, then there's green, blue and orange again. Puts the wole thing together nicely, keep it up!

I was trying to have the city as a secondary light source if that makes sense? But you have a very good point! I'll keep an eye on that in future pieces.
Thank you! (:

Two words for this... Total Awesome.
I love those buildings with that light effects. The trees, the water and the sky are so marvelous, and I like the way you did the branches.
The tiger is also really amazing. I like its fur, especially in the head.
I just think you could maybe have made its tongue looks like it's a little wet and make it a lttle bit "curved", but they're really small details, so don't care about that. XD

Anyway, I have to go to bed now, and the last words I'll say are: Very well done. <3

Two words for my response: Total gratitude!
Haha, thank you so much for the wonderful comment. C:
The tongue was a bit of a last minute addition, actually - I should have probably put more thought into it, you're right! ^^

Ok great job, this is absolutely amazing, way beyond my abilities But the tiger anatomy is a bit off. A common mistake when doing tigers is to have the head on a three quarter angle and then the muzzle just plain side view which has happened here. The muzzle maybe a tiny bit shorter too. For the legs the back paws should be a bit bigger and there are some faults in the front as well. Here I relined it so you could see [link] You did very well with the tiger's fur and coloring tho and pretty well on the anatomy as that is a very difficult pose. The backround is stunning, very well done ;D

Thank you so much for the crit and lovely comment. :'D The redline isn't working any more but I saw it earlier so that's okay.
Wow, the back leg problem seems obvious now that you point it out! I'll definitely watch out for that in future. I tried to make a small part of the other side of the muzzle in view originally, but it didn't seem to fit. Probably should have tried harder, my fault. xD
I agree with everything you suggested and thanks again. <3
