Once a proud member of the Mushroom Kingdom, King Koopa enticed the majority of the Goomba people to join his kingdom with the promise of UBI and disability assistance. Something that the Mushroom Kingdom didn’t provide I guess. 🤷‍♂️

The Goombas that betrayed the Mushroom Kingdom had become a powerful force under the glorious King Bowser. Goombas are infamous for how easy they are to stomp on, regarding how Mario has proven it so many times. Goombas make up for this massive weakness in their massive numbers and fast respawn times, but most importantly. Goombas are quite the strategists, this is to make up for their lack-luster body shape and they show it by their specialized troops. This can be seen in their ginormous and diverse list of subspecies.

Despite popular belief, there are still a small population of Goombas that are loyal to the Mushroom Kingdom, despite this, these Goombas suffer heavy racism due to their current race’s affiliation with Bowser’s Kingdom. Their small population in the Mushroom Kingdom made seeing a Koopa aligned Goomba far more common. Many have been accused of being spies for the opposing side and suffered greatly. Fortunately, this intense racism died down a bit once notable Goombas: Goombario and Goombella assisted Mario on two of his many perilous missions.
