Description Woohoo! Finally! I've been wanting to play with darker, richer, more luxurious skin tones for a long time now, but I just haven't had the time lately to do any artwork for just myself. But I finally managed to make enough time to do this over the course of a few days.

I also abandoned my old cel shading attempts (for now) and have reverted back to my old coloring style, which I do like, but I would still like to practice cel shading, too.

And I know, I know, dA sucks at handling transparency in the thumbnails, but I felt the transparency in the full-view version was worth having a wonky preview.

Thank you so much! I went through all the colors on the spectrum, and decided orangeish looked best, so I'm glad you noticed it! I still want to work on improving my ethnicities. Every time I try to draw someone who isn't white, they seem to come out like a white person with different skin tones. Oh, well! Practice makes better, right?

You're totally welcome hun!

XD I know what you mean. Then again, I think for me they come out racially ambiguous.

But definitely, Practice makes perfect! I think you did a great job with here.

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun with the colors, but I think the facial structure still needs tweaking. I'm glad you appreciate it!

She has such lovely skin! Very luminous!
And I also like her bracelet, eyes, and hair. You always do such a great job with hair.

Aww, thank you! I feel like I get carried away with the luminous stuff sometimes, but I love glowy and sparkly things. On the other hand, I don't want all my pictures to be colored with the exact same light set, either, or things get monotonous no matter how varied the subject.

You're always welcome!

You know better, girlie! There's no such thing as too much shiny desu! .3.
You can never get carried away with teh shinies!

Not to mention the fact that it gets boring doing things the same way all the time. That's why it's always a good idea to try new things, even if you do suck at them!

thats something I been wanting to do myself. I feel it'd be fun to work in darker skin tones owo!
I would want to practice drawing a different ethnicity. Its not just the makeup thats different, but sometimes even the facial composition is different too.

Sometimes its boring to just draw vanilla. u-u

This looks rly good and she looks super sexy ;V

I agree! It can be tricky to make the ethnicity work. Here, I tried to widen her nose a bit and thicken her lips, but to me, she still looks Caucasian. Darn, I will just have to keep practicing. Asian eyes are also difficult for me to draw. uou

mhm. oWo its hard to get ethnicity down. its too easy to just use your brain's stock eyeball and lips formula. It causes you to think more as you draw a face @w@

Very much, but it's fun to explore areas you're not familiar with. "Stock eyeball and lips formula" What a perfect way to put it.

It was so much fun, too, because I got to explore different makeup options. Different colors work for different skin tones. It was exciting new territory to explore.
